Angel Quilt and Bambi

Hello Blog friends!! The day before new years eve. I am thinking we all need a little extra looking after the end of this year and the whole of next year!! If you are in good shape financially, I am so happy for you!! Most people are not!! I am praying that our angels will take extra good care of us through the rest of this year and all of next year!!! May 2010 be healthy and prosperous for us all!!!! The Angel Quilt was quilted by a Grandmother for her Grandson.

It is done in 1 and a half inch pieces of fabric. It is a very large quilt. The sweet lady who made it died less than a year after finishing it. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous new year !!!!

This is our 12 year old sweet rescue dog Bambi as she looks today!! She is in pretty good shape for her age. The only problem she has is lumps that are growing here and there on her body, and the vet and Maggie from Maggie and Mitch say that a lot of older dogs get those lumps and unless there are growing in the very wrong place they will not be a problem.

Dogs

Bambi are rescue girl is the oldest dog that I have ever had and I have had a bunch of dogs in my life time. Bambi came from the animal shelter here in town after 3 different people brought her there. As a 5 or 6 weeks old pup, she was left in and fenced holding pond right near the Shelter. They found a male who wanted her. He had her 2 weeks. Then 3 weeks later a lady wanted her. She had her less then 2 weeks and brought her back. The lady had, had her spayed

and bought her a crate. Then I came along and got her. She still had her stitches in her belly and they gave me her crate. The shelter is 28 miles away from home, so on the way home I could tell she had kennel cough. The vet could not see her that day, but next morning she was at the vets. He said she was days away from death from her kennel cough, he gave her a shot and pills and we went back 3 or 4 days later. Bambi was feeling a lot better. the follow up visit went well. Her stitches were taken out and he gave her a thumbs up!!!

That will be 12 years ago the 1st of February. I have never had a dog this long before!! I love it, she knows me so well and I know her so well. It is WONDERFUL !!!!!!!!

Happy holidays my blog friends!! We are having a great time. Tom has gone back to work today.

He plans on working 3 days this week and then a long week-end again. I hope that is the way it plays out!!!!

Surprise Company

Kit from Dog Daze says, Sunday is for family. I had told you that there wasn't enough money for trips this year, remember ?? So I readied myself for no company this year. Saturday David called to tell me they where 1 hour away!!!!! So I had a surprise visit from my first born and his wife!! Here they are.

Clematis !! That is how you spell it

Yes, this is the Clematises in the summer!!! The day before my Birthday there was this one lone Clematis out there in a very cold spell blooming for me. If that was not a gift from God, I don't know what else you would call it.

This is the front driveway. The 6 foot fence goes beside the driveway and comes up to an area that can be seen from the front door. So when a car come up to the front gate I can see who it is.

Well my friends Tom has planed to come home this afternoon and than be home until Monday.

I hope his plans work out. If they do I will only be on the computer very little.

God gave me a birthday gift !!

Yesterday TV said our temperature was 29 degrees. Well I guess it was not that cold here because this is what I found on our morning walkies. I can't tell you the name of this flower because I can't spell it. I know it's name but I can't spell it. Is anybody out there that can tell me who to spell it?? This is a summer flower! It should not be blooming in the dead of winter.

I have some pictures of it blooming away in the summer time. I will show you those pictures tomorrow. Thank-you God for my wonderful birthday present!!!

This is our crop of Christmas cactus!! Beautiful!!! Another present!! I believe every plant, every tree is a gift from God!! Every animal, every child, all gifts. Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if everybody in this world felt the same way!!!!!!!!!!! There would be no just killing to kill in this world!!!!!! I can dream on my birthday!!!!!

Quilts

Good Morning blogger friends,
When I started quilting I did not know that I was quilting!!! The first vest I ever made was made out of corduroy and I loved it. The next vest was just made out of 100 percent cotton and with making that vest I learned that I really wanted more to the vest then 2 layers of cotton.
Batting was bought to put in the middle of the next vest. Still I really didn't know what I was doing. I made another vest of just cotton with the batting in the middle and at that time I knew I needed to sew these layers together. But only with experience did I learn how much sewing-quilting needed to be done when making a quilted vest. I joined the quilt club in spring of 97 and started going to the meetings. I picked up a lot in a short time and this is my first quilt made in summer and autumn of 97. It is not real good and it is not too bad. It hangs in my sewing room and I love it there. It reminds me of how far I have come.


I have a special couple of pictures I will show you tomorrow, my birthday!!

The computer has changed my life for the better in so many ways !!!! I can not imagine living without the computer ever again.!!!

Next Tuesday is my birthday and I am getting really old !!!! I had started to get a little senile !!
But not anymore. I am not very fast at typing and there is a whole bunch more to learn but I am coming along. You all are helping keep my mind busy. My body is healing as I type a comment or a blog to you. Thank-you so very much !!!!!!!!

One Week to Christmas--Dogs and Me

It is a very rainy day again here!!! We have had our share of rain in December this year. It really has not rained every day it just seems like it has rained every day. Today they fore casted

rain all day. They think we will have 3- 5 inches. I am going to have to dig up Amanda's rain coat so Bambi will go outside.

Above is Amanda busy receiving pee mail at the park we went to every morning. There were hardly ever anyone there . Usually just us.

Here I am getting older and fatter. I made what I am wearing. That is a fleece vest with Embroidery white flowers and leaves on the fleece.

Bambi showing where she had her lumps removed, that are growing back!! Where they did surgery the hair has not grown back! The vet says the hair probably will not grow back. See her skin there just in front of her hind leg. Tom says we will probably have to cut them off again.

This time there are twice as many as there was before. Not looking forward to that!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Christmas Tree and Tom and I 27 and a half years ago

Here is our outside Christmas Tree. We talked about it a lot and we decided that it would survive much better if we did not bring it inside. So it is just out the front door. Just off the porch. It has outside lights on it that don't heat up so they will not hurt the tree. We can turn the lights on and off from inside. We like it very much. It is our homemade Christmas Tree!!!

Below is a picture of Tom and I when we first got together 27 and a half years ago!! If you look close you can see just how happy we were together!!! We are still that happy together!!! I have a lot of body problems and there is a lot of them that Tom has fixed, but I still have a cervical

spin that is slipping away and nothing is going to fix that. I still have the best life you can imagine being with the right man!! He is for me and I am for him!!!

Another post coming to an end. It is getting closer to Christmas!!! It is a wonderful time of year!! I love it. I wish I could see my G-daughter but she is too far away. We will be happy with emails!!!!

Joker and a quilt that went for the babies

Joker was the sweetest dog you would ever have meet!!! He was so very gentle. He loved all other animals!! Coons, possums, fox, squirrels, cows, dogs and cats. He loved them all!!!!!!

If you came in the fence without permission he would bite a person but not an animal. Tom and I went on a vacation and boarded him at a kennel. When we came back, poor Joker was spilt from ear to ear and down his face. He had 17 stitches. The kennel had put him with another dog. That other dog tore into Joker and Joker never fought back. Joker held no anger

toured the other dog, but I DID!!! I was so mad!!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for this picture it is the only one I can find. I took 2 or 3 pictures of this quilt. This is the worst one. This is a quilt I made for the hospital here in town. The quilt club takes baby quilts to give to the ones that are premature or something is wrong with that baby. The club took quilts every month for the babies. I made probably 10 or 11 quilts for them before my life changing fall and had to quit the club.

Joker -- Happy--- At Joker's grave site

Hay Friends, I am looking at the picture below and you can see how much Joker was happy to be rescued!!! I think all animal lovers should realize how much the rescued animal knows what you are doing for him or her. They know that you have saved them from death or am awful life.
Every person that can should have a rescued animal!! They are so so special!!!! I wish I could afford to do more for the animals!! We are really spending more than we should now, usually at least 20.00$ a week. If I gave up the animals we could afford high speed!!! The animals are way more important!!

Happy cat! Our rescued cat!! She loves her people and her home too!! When she first came it was so obviously, obvious that she was very happy with her pick of a home that we called her Happy. When she came she was not as loving as she is now. She sleeps close by, day or night.

Above is Joker's grave site. Tom surprised me with Joker engraved marble head stone. That site holds many of our sweet animals. Cats and dogs!!! A very sacred place!!

My Dogs for the last 33 years

Hi Friends, I have looked and looked and I just don't have any pictures of Bambi and I together!

That is a bad thing! I will have to have Tom take some pictures of Bambi and I together one day. Anyway this post is about the dogs that have lived with me for the last 33 years! We are going from now to 33 years ago. Of course you all know everybody. I do have some new blog friends that do not know everybody though. The pictures are for them.

Above is my sweet Bambi that was dropped of at the animal shelter by who ever was the owner of her mom. Not sure when that was. Bambi was spayed by the shelter at too young an age. She was adopted out 2 times before me. Poor thing was close to death because the people who had adopted her were not dog people. It took me 30 minutes to know she had kennel cough. She was at the vets the next day. The vet said she was close to dying. I got her just in time!!!!!

Bruce was the stud fee for my ex-husband 's G. S. D. mating with this other G. S. D. that he met at an obedience class. The ex and I parted company a year later.

The other dogs were all rescues.

Tiger-- Tiger & Amanda--- Friend

Hi friends. Tiger's belly. Now with this picture you would think he liked his belly rubs, but he did not really like to have his belly rubbed. He would lay that way a lot to tempted you. A big tease!!!


Here are the love birds resting in their chair for an afternoon. This was the seen most every afternoon!!

Below is Friend sitting on the hot water heater in the pantry. That was one of his favorite spots in the house. It took him years to be comfortable in the living room and to sit on a chair with us. He did make it about 2 years before he died.

Friend was around for 4 years before we accepted him as family. Then he lived with us for 9 years before we lost him from a heart attack.

I hope you all have a good day. It would be better around here if it would stop raining. We need to get out and have our walk. Bambi just might have to go out alone, at least until it is just sprinkling for me to go out with her. It will sooner or later.

Shawna at her Computer and Tiger in the sun

Hi blog friends, meet my Grand-daughter at her computer e mailing her Nana. We hardly ever get to see each other but we do talk on the phone and since last January we e mail each other.

She is a whiz on the computer!! She has been on since she was 3 or 4 years. She can spell better than I can. I am very proud of her.

Below is our kitty that lived to be 18 years old. He just loved our dogs. He knew Bruce, Joker, and Amanda. He loved them all equally. He missed them as much as we did when we would lose one. He was so very special!!!

We have had a nice week-end but Tom has something else to fix!! Our washing machine quit today. Usually week-ends are wash day. But not this weekend. So he has two things to fix when he gets the parts. I want to tell you, that was what attracted me to him in the first place. He can fix anything. He built his own computer in 98 and it is still going strong.

The fan is still doing ok thank the Lord.

Not the Right Fan

Well they did not bring the right fan! It does not fit! Tom took the other out of the computer and cleaned it and played with it and put it back in and now it is not screaming so much!! Tom says he will try again. But for now he doesn't think it will quit in a few minutes or maybe a couple of hours. So I am good for awhile maybe until the right fan comes.

Below is my sweet Bambi. That picture was taken 2 weeks ago. You can see one of her little
growths on her belly. We spent over $ 300:00 having 5 lumps removed but most of them are growing back. We walk 3 or 4 times a day when the weather permits. We were on one of our walks.

Below is the feeding station where I leave fresh water and food out for the critters. One of my critters is a young fox. In the summer I change the water at least 2 times a day but usually 3 or 4 times. Every critter comes to drink water. In the winter it gets changed at least once a day even when it has frozen the night before. I have a 6 foot fence around 2 and a half acres. In the picture is the back gate. The down pine tree was hit by lightning. The owners had it cut down and it took up a lot of the space that I had been feeding and watering in but it did not seem to bother anybody.

I have really enjoyed being able to blog tonight!! The fan has gotten a little louder but not too bad. I will try to blog again maybe Sunday night. I will not be able to go visit you as much as I would like. I will turn the computer on and read my comments tho.

New Fan

Hay blog friends, I just called Tom and he said that UPS just brought the fan!!!!!!!
He will install it after dinner tonight and then I'LL be back!!!!

My Computer is quitting !!!!

Hay friends, my computer is getting ready to quit!! Tom says the fan is minutes or maybe hours away from quitting. Than I can not use the computer until I get a new fan!! Tom says he will try to order one tomorrow. Then we wait. So I have minutes or hours left. So if in a sentence I just stop you will know why and what is going on.

Above is my resuce dog Amanda and our kitty Tiger. Tiger thought he was a dog. Tiger LOVED dogs. He was not crazy about cats, but loved dogs that looked like him.

Above is my LOVE rose. Yes the name of that rose is Love rose!!! Just one of my namy in the once was, my rose beds.

Above is my current dog Bambi. In that picture she was probably about 3 or 4 years old. She is now 12 years old and not as slim. It happens to us all!! I know I am a lot heavier than in my prime.

That fan is screamming it's little head off!!!
