Monday - Memorial Day l

Tom stayed home today to cut the grass for the first time this year and Boy did it need cutting!!!!
We are suppose to get rain this late afternoon from the storm coming at us.  GEES I hope we get some rain we need it so badly!!!

Happy Friday Friends!!!   Isn't this just the cutest picture??  I wish I had taken it!  I could have when Bambi was here in her last 5 or 6 years of her life.  B/c the coons were not afraid of her at all.  She really didn't pay any attention to them at all and they didn't pay any attention to her!!   What does that picture say to you????????????  To me it says I'M HUNGRY MOM......................  so cute!

Frankie is the Mayor of Blogville and today we are honoring him for being our MAYOR !!!!  Thank-you Frankie for being such a wonderful friend and our Mayor of Blogville!!!  You are the best we could have ever!!!

The garden -- things are growing

It is no wonder the grass has not been cut!!!!!  Things are growing like weeds around here  and the foodables have to be cared for,, they are so much more important!!  The tomatoes are coming to our table!!!  So happy about that!!!  The first ones tastes SOOO GOOD!!!!!   Oh happy day!!!
We love those HOT peppers too!!!!
We are still getting strawberries EVERYDAY TOO 25 to 35 a day!!!

Things are growing like weeds around here

Yes Yes Yes-- things are growing like weeds around here.   It is getting hard to keep up with everything!!!!!
In fact -- we are not keeping up.  The grass has not been cut this year yet and here it is May the 18th!!!!
Life would be easier with money I think-- what do you think????

The food garden is also almost ready to feed us and I can't hardly wait!!! I have spent a hour trying to load pictures of the garden and I just don't have that kind of time to spend and they WOULD NOT load today!!!  Sorry!!
Hope you have a wonderful week-end we will have a great one b/c we will be together.  Happy, Zoie, Tom and Fern all together just were we want to be!!!!!

Sarge's Nick-name Post

Zoie has only lived with us for a little over 6 months so she doesn't have all the nick-manes she will probably end up with but we are going to try Sarge's nick-mane post anyway.
1--  Zoie Toey  ----  She has very big feet!!!
2--Big Ass----    She would have been very good at giving birth
3--Pretty Woman   She is pretty and I love Roy Orbison's  song!!!!
4-- Pretty Girl!!   You know why

Well that is all she has to this date.  She will come to all of those names but she is a very good girl and comes when she hears my voice I think!!!!!
I am not going through all the rules and other stuff cause you all know all that stuff anyway right ??

Zoie hates water in any form

Not new pictures, please excuse!!  Tom has needed HIS camera at work-- and it is his not mine really.  I get to use it when he doesn't need it.
ZOIE HATES WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We have had rain on and off all of today so far and it has been like pulling teeth to get her out to do her business.  She hates water so badly I would say she has had a very bad experience at some time before she came to me with water!!!!  She hates water and is afraid of it!!!
She might have almost drown at one time and that would explain her fear of it. She is afraid of even a drop!!!  Poor girl!!!  It makes it very hard on us to keep her clean and to walk her when it is wet outside!!!

PS---- Tom has bought Zoie some Eucalyptus oil & citronella oil to make a recipe to keep the deer flies off Zoie and it works like a charm.  We only have to put it on her once a day too!!!

The week-end

Happy Friday Friends,   Oh how I love Fridays.  Do you like Fridays?  Tomorrow Tom will be home. We will go to the Farmers Market.  I love to go there. I wish it was bigger then it is but it is better then no farmers market at all!!! I see these big beautiful markets on TV and I drool!!!!  I love eating healthy!! It is more work but oh so worth it!!!!!
Sunday is a Tom day from start to finish!!!  We have a big breakfast of steel cut oatmeal with lots of wonderful things in that oatmeal.......  Like our home grown strawberries and frozen blueberries,& bananas,

pineapple,  walnuts, pecans & almonds, & Chea seeds.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this breakfast so much and it is so good for you!!  There is housework to do and dishes to do.  We work in the garden too. We have such a good time together!!!!

Deer Flies

Zoie is having a big big problem with deer flies!!!!!!  They attack her way more then they bother me.  Poor baby---she hates them!!!  She is getting where she doesn't want to go outside in the day time.
She is afraid of them and I don't blame her --- they hurt when they bit you like H------ !!!!!  Poor poor Zoie.  They stay around till cooler weather.  That is till next October or November!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zoie here 6 months today

I think Zoie came to live with us from a very bad home 6 months today.  She was very thin.  She was so in need of love and attention!!!   She just ate me up from the start! I showed her a lot of love from the first minute I met her. When her only other family walked out of here she was glad to stay with me. The first night she didn't want to get in the crate but she did and she cried a lot but I didn't get up for her. The second night she didn't cry so much and the next night she didn't cry at all.  She slept in her crate at night until Happy decided it was her crate and now Zoie sleeps in her chair.  She never bothers us until it is time to get up then she comes in the bedroom and says hi and if I don't get right up away she gos back to bed until I am ready to get up!!!  She is a wonderful girl.  In the first picture she was 48 lbs..    Now she is 82 lbs. and so happy!!!!  Happy 6 months Zoie!!!!!!  Here's to lots and lots and lots more years together!!

Eyes all blurry

Morning Friends,   I am not seeing well today.  Everything is all blurry!!  Tom says he thinks it is coming from allergies---  maybe, b/c it comes and gos.

Well it is Friday already and the week-end is almost here!!!

This is a quilt I saw and loved in a Jacksonville show years ago. 
Sorry I am not doing well, but I can't see what I am doing!!!  I think that picture is sideways  --the rose.
in the garden... I have some pink roses planted and this is one of my roses in the garden blooming now!!!  Yes it is sideways!!!!  Oh well!!

Hummingbirds

Thank you dear friends for your friendship!!  Thank-you so much for your comments!!!  I treasure each one of you all!!!  I love you all!!! 
This year we got warm weather early and mosquitoes and ticks followed.  Were where the hummingbirds ????   They help with the mosquitoes at least.  They have finally made it here.  The Hummers are back!!!
I love these little mighty birds!!!   I love to watch then!!!  I love that they do make a difference with the amount of mosquitoes we have to fight off!!  They are worth the work they make me!!! 
Zoie is a dog and dogs love to chew on sticks!!!  She is not a bad chewer tho!!!!  She is a very good girl and I love her so very much!!!
