How I spent my Memorial Day's

Happy Memorial Day to you!!!!

This was one of the family businesses we had I worked from age 8 to age 15 and a half. This kind of businesses you work everyday!! We had an ice cream jeep too!! I worked that as well.

When I married at a very young age the next thing I knew was we were in business for our selves again. A gas station!!! The kind of business you work everyday!!!!!!! We were in 5 businesses before the marriage was over!!! I never drew a salary in any of the businesses. I

certainly did learn who to handle money tho!!!!!!!!!! That is why we have enough money to pay cash for Tom's hernia surgery.

I have lived a hard life and my body knows it. I can't work like I use to. I can't get through washing dishes by hand without a brake in the middle. Tom helps a lot lately with the dishes and he loves to cook so we work in the kitchen together!!! That is so nice ,would have never happened with the first hubby.

Memorial Day Week end

It is the Memorial Day week end. I hope you all have a wonderful time with family and fun this week end. Take extra time to send with your fur babies!!! They need your care and love too!!!

It is just another day around here. Tom works on Monday, just like any other Monday. It has been that way all my life. When I was young we had a beach wagon and we worked hard on every holiday but Christmas. My first marriage we had gas stations and we worked everyday

but

Thanksgiving and Christmas~~~~~ Work Work Work Now I am retired and I try hard not to work at anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That I don't want to do~~ like housework!!!!!!!!!!!

Hair Days

That is me sitting on a tiger when I was about 8 or 9 years old. One of the questions on the award I got from Ninny's Notes was what was you worst hair day?
Now that question is a story all in itself.
I was born with very fine hair!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had hair dressers say it was the finest they had ever seen. My hair is straight!!! When I was a young girl I had a lot of it!! My Grandma wanted me to get permanents. She didn't want me to have straight hair. So once a year I got a permanent!
For as many years as she could control it. My Grandma lived a long life so it was pretty ingrained in me!!


I was in my forties before the proms stopped.......... But the damage had been done!!! I had started losing my hair!! Losing My Hair!!!!! OMG !!!!!
My Grandma suffered the same fate. It did not save me though!! What is my worst hair day!!!
EVERYDAY!!!! By the time my Grandma was my age she was almost bald. Well I am not that bad yet!!! I do have a bald spot right in the middle of my hair and it is very thin on top of my head. I don't go out without a hat on!!!!!!! What is the worst hair day you have ever had???
Everyday!!!!!!

An Award from Liz at Ninny's Notes

Hi friends!! Liz, from Ninny's Notes gave me this nice award. That is so sweet of you Liz!!!! Thank you!!!! There are questions of course and I am suppose to pick others to post this pretty picture and answer all the questions. It is a very nice picture. And I am going to answer some of the questions.. Good for me!!!
One of the questions was, Do you drink coffee or tea?? That is not the first question, but it is the easiest... Tea, I hardly ever drink coffee. I really don't like coffee unless it is doctored up with lots of cream and sugar. I am trying to keep the weight off and cream and sugar doesn't do that at all!!!! Tom came home with a plant that is a Stevia last Saturday and that plant is a natural sweetener. We made tea with mint leaves and 2 leaves from the new Stevia plant Saturday night and that is the best tea I have ever had, with no sweetener in it except the new plant!!! If you ever see it at a store or farmers market do get it!! It is wonderful. I had been putting honey in my tea but now I don't have to have any sweetener but just two leaves of Stevia!!! That will help keeps a few pounds off!!!!!

I haven't been able to take any garden pictures in the last two days. Monday it was very dark no sun at all but no rain. Tuesday we had another dark day and one and a half inches of rain. Today it is sunny and if it stays that way I will gets some pictures. The garden shoot up in the last two days!!! So the garden didn't care at all that it was dark and it rained yesterday!!!

Here is little Jake. This picture was taken a few weeks ago. I haven't seen Jake in about 5 or 6 days now. I hope he is alright. He is one year old now and if he showed any interest in mating he has been run off by the females. He is just the cutest little coon!!!

My sweet sweet girl Bambi. I love her so much and she is 12 years and 5 months about!!! We don't know her exact age. What month she was born only a guess. That is one nice thing about having a dog that is not a rescue dog.

The computer is still not happy. It is doing funny things to me the last couple weeks!!!

Bambi and it's hot

We have Sumner!!! It is hot!!! Today it is suppose to go to 95 and feel like 100 degrees!!! You spend 15 minutes out there and you are sweating !!! Every time I go out I come back in with a tick or two. That is the fun of having 3 acres!!!!!! A wooded 3 acres!!! Love it in the winter but the summer you get ticks!!!

I don't know if the computer is not happy or Blogger is not happy. But the last two days I haven't been able to do much going to others blogs and have had lots of trouble leaving comments. If I have left you a comment it took an hour or more and had to reboot at least once. It takes me 20 to 30 minutes to load your blog. So I am working really hard to be friends!!!!

Been thinking about Bruce

Hey blog friends. I have been thinking about my dog love of my life Bruce!!!! He taught me so much!! My mother use to say, they are just animals. Don't cry over an animal... He taught me they are so much more. They are your best friend in the world!!! They love you fat or thin, sick or well!! They are the world to me!!! I love an animal unconditionally, the way they love me.

I'll bet you feel the same!!!

Bruce at 5 weeks old!! He can home to me one week later when I had just got out of the hospital from cancer surgery. I worked so hard for him and he worked so hard for me!!

That is my first husband and Father of my two men, with puppy Bruce. Look at those feet on Bruce!!! He was a big boy when he grew up.

Another Mother's Day pasted

Good morning friends. Another Mother's day pasted. My oldest son called me and sent this card, my youngest

sent an e-mail. My youngest has just got a computer about 3 months ago and is learning to use it. He is doing it on his own but coming along pretty good. My oldest has had a computer for over 20 years.

How was your Mother's day??? How long have you had a computer?? I have had this one, my first, one a year and 4 months. I must say I LOVE the computer!!! It has brought all my blog friends to me!!! I appreciate the computer so very much!!! I can't ever see living without one ever again.

Please tell me about your experience with computers. I would love to hear about it.

The garden is coming along. it is a mess right now or I would show it to you.

We 'll get it straighten up and I'll get pictures and show you all.

Amaryllis-- Tomatoes--- a Quilt

Hi dear!!! The quilt above I have shown before and I will show it again and again every so often. This quilt was made by a friend that is now gone to meet her maker. Cancer got her far to young. This quilt won Best in Show in the big quilt show in Paducah, Ky. Everyone from Talla Town was so proud of her. She got front page on the town's daily paper.

The tomatoes were put in there forever home last week end. We have 3 more the do this coming week end. The first 3 will have a big head start b/c of that week. They have jumped up!!!! This pic was taken last Friday.

The Amaryllis in the center of the picture was bought in 85 in Atlanta. The photo was taken last week. I took the pictures b/c we were going to have bad storms and a lot of rain. A LOT of rain will tear the blooms and then we just have a mess. I really love the orange colored one so much!!!!

Did you notice that I had them in a tomato cage??? Their heads are so big and heavy they have to have help to hold their heads up!!!

I have enjoyed talking with you today. I do so love my blogging friends!!!!

One of my family

Hello friends, I have been thinking all day long of what to post about today. I really haven't had time to go through my pictures. Sunday is for family and that's what has had my attention all day long!!! Saturday Tom had a bug, a 24 hour bug!! He woke up sick to his stomach. He was down all day long, feeling bad!! Sunday AM he woke up feeling fine!! He has been going all day long like yesterday never happened. We have worked in the yard. We have washed clothes and Tom went grocery shopping this late afternoon. We have had a good day!!

Happy helped in the garden area today. She wanted to say Hi to all our friends.

After yesterday I am pooped !!!!

Maybe I'll see you all tomorrow.
