Coons & A Baby Quilt

This little baby quilt is not straight, but then none have ever been really straight! That quilt was my 3 or 4 quilt ever made by me. It was funny to me when I started quilting, that I could make a pair of slacks that fit very well and it was so hard to make a square - - straight quilt.
Below is 3 of my coons. I should not say MY coons. They really don't belong to me. I belong to them!!!!! It takes 50 lbs of dog food to feed them every week. We keep a container in the freezer that has things that are eatable that we have thrown away like cooked potatoes skins, beet tops, celery tops, carrots tops, broccoli outer tough parts ect. Once a week all that gets put in a big pot with liquid that has been saved from cooking something and 2 cups of white rice and cooked until done. That is given to the coons and fox and possums. nothing is wasted here. We feed everybody!!
Kari my commenter that leaves very nice comments for me. Is there anyway that I can talk back to you??? Please can this be a two way????
Thank-you sweet friends for your comments and your friendship!!! You mean so much to me,
everybody!!!
Come back and talk to me! Comment and become a follower!!! Lets all be friends and love one another!!! Wouldn't it be a great world!!!
Love you all lots, Bambi, Happy and Fern

  1. Hi Fern
It certainly sounds like your racoons have a very healthy diet. The quite is so pretty. I look forward to you being able to quilt again very soon.

  7. Hi there, What a wonderful caring provider you are. I love the pattern on the quilt and I've always had a problem keeping them straight.
Coons can be quite nasty if they aren't taken care of-good for you dear friend.

  9. What a second Fern!... You can actually make a pair of pant that fit you? Hmpf.

And 50lbs of food for those little guys? WOW!

BTW, beautiful baby quilt. You really shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I would have never known it was crooked. :)

  10. D says that you shouldn't worry about the wobbly quilt - we are always most critical of our own work - D spent three days trying to match up pieces for a dress she was making - in the end she had to admit defeat - she made the dress and no one ever noticed! We know 'cause she was using some pretty foul language when she was putting it together. Got our attention!

Love the racoons - glad to see nothing gets wasted - they seem to keep you busy too! We have a crow that shouts at D if he hasn't been fed. He shouts and she goes out and feeds him! I bark at her and get told to be quiet - how unfair is that?
