Happy Week-end Friends

Hi Friends, picture of sweet Bambi!!!
Last year's garden--- this year's is doing real good so far. We have the tomatoes planted and we have 3 tomatoes that have set fruit!!

Here is Happy!!! She looks really good for an old girl. She is somewhere around 18 to 20 years old !!!!!! Cats usually do not show their age you know?? When she walks you can see her age. She has a lot of arthritis..

I surely hope you have a wonderful week-end. It is going to be beautiful around here.. It is suppose to get to 90 degrees both days of the week-end!!! YAY YAY !!!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi, Happy & Fern

  9. Happy looks wonderful for her age!

Thanks for visiting my blog - you had some questions about raw feeding.

The idea behind feeding raw is to replicate a biologically appropriate diet - in other words, what would a wild canine eat? We feed primarily chicken with supplemented Hones Kitchen raw diet complement food (a dehydrated mix of veggies, etc to add to the primary protein) Sometimes we feed turkey and fish also. The girls looks and act great, no health problems.

There are a few concerns though - salmonella is a risk, but the dogs can handle it better than we can (risk is still there, though). All the meat is frozen, then thawed just before feeding.

Also, raw bones can cause punctures along the digestive tract. We've had no issues with this. We've been very dissatisfied with traditional pet foods (not so traditional actually - pet kibble has only been around for about 60 yrs) as they are a huge money making industry. It's a personal choice we've decided on and I think everyone has make their own decisions about diet. If you have any other questions, you can email me forpetssake2@yahoo.com and I'll send you to some websites that can give you more info. I hope I was able to answer some of your questions :)

    Great to meet you!!

  10. What a lovely diet you make! I'll be right over for lunch ;)

I think like us, dogs are what they eat. I hope to never cause harm in the methods I choose. "dog food" has become such a huge money-maker, that these companies will tell pet owners anything! I've seen too many pets with cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, etc over the years at the practices I've worked at to not see a connection.
I'm sorry about your GSD - that is simply too young to lose a baby :(

    Have a wonderful Sunday, friend!

  11. That is a lovely garden! My tomatoes are still seedlings in the basement. In our planing zone, we usually start getting tomatoes in July. Maybe late June if we have an early bloomer and we're really lucky!

And Happy is beautiful! It is difficult to believe that she is as old as she is. I hope that our cats age as gracefully.
