Mondays Memories

Tom and Joker rescued when he was 5 and a half years old.
Amanda rescued when she was 4.7 years old.
Bambi rescued when she was 5 months old with kennel cough and almost died poor baby!!
Bruce gotten from the ex's dog Hank. Bruce was brought home to me when I had just come home from a full hysterectomy b/c I had stage 4 cancer. He was 7 weeks old. I know how to take care of a puppy and he was so smart. I had him house trained in two days!! We were never apart. That is the key to a wonderful dog.

I want to thank everyone for their kind, loving words to me when I so need them!!! I am in shock that I lost my sweet Bambi so fast but I am glad she died with me with her in her own home. The last hour and a half she had a very fast heart beat and then it just stopped!!! Just that simple, her heart stopped!! During the last couple of years I was hoping I wouldn't have to put her to sleep. I hate to do that, even when, you are doing it out of deep love for your fur-baby. I didn't have to!!!
I would love to get to you all and say thank-you so much for your wonderful words of wisdom but on dial up it would take me months.
I had 71 comments---- THANK_YOU!!!!

Love coming your way, Fern

  13. It's always hard to lose someone beloved, no matter if it's a person, dog, cat or something else. I have the same hope that you do, that one day they will just go to sleep and not wake up. It hasn't worked out that way for me in the past, but I always hope for that. Bambi was a special girl and she'll always have a special place in your heart!

  15. I am so sorry for your loss.

For years after my big white Una died I thought I saw her beside me, and I would always reach down to stroke her.

I wish that our animals could live so much longer.

Thanks for all the love you give,

  18. Oh Fern... I am just so sorry.... The last few weeks have been ones of many tears since I lost my beloved Jazz... i did have to have him put to sleep... and I stayed with him till the last, I would not leave my dear lambie. It WAS so HARD! But I stroked his head and talked to him and right before the vet gave the injection, my Jazz gave me one last kiss on the chin.....
I am so glad you didn't have to put Bambi down....
Thanks for your kind words on my blog...
    You have a caring heart....

  22. What a sweet post! Such beautiful dogs have graced your life! I am sorry you are still suffering from the loss of your precious Bambi. When my last dog died, it took me months before I could even talk about him without bawling. So I completely understand your pain, and am truly sorry.

It is a blessing Bambi was with you, and that she went on her own, when it was her time to leave.

    Peace.

  23. I am so sorry about Bambi's passing. But I am happy that she has lived many long years with you. I am sure she was happy that you were there with her, by her side, holding her when she slipped away. She just wanted you to be there with her. Now she is free of pain & young again at the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to you. Take care & stay strong.
