Memories on Tuesday

Good Morning Blogville Friends, The pic above is when I first got Bambi way back in the first of March 98. I didn't have a camera in our early days so I have very few pictures of her. The few I do have were taken with Tom's camera. When I first got her she was on deaths door with kennel cough. She went to the vets on the way home from the local shelter were she had spent most of her life up to that point. We hit the vets office at just the right time and he took us right in. The vet was over joyed that I had another dog!! He really liked Bambi from the very start. He told Bambi that she had hit the lotto!!! He told her she could not find a better home. He gave her a shot and we had pills that I was to give her 3 times a day. Bambi had been coughing a lot on the way to the vets office. With in 24 hours she was noticeable better. It was up hill from there and with in days she was playing like the puppy she was.
This was taken last year about March 2010.
Clematis,, this year!!

I am going to blog about her, celebrate our life together. She was just the best, most wonderful dog you could ever meet. I wish you all could have met her!!

Love coming your way, Fern and Bambi- in spirit

  1. I am very excited to get to know Bambi better through her memoirs.

I do hope though, that someday soon, you will make that trip again to a shelter and find a new heart to bless with a wonderful life.

Not today, not tomorrow, but when you are ready

I Know that Bambi will understand.

    Love

  4. Hi Fern, my dad says that he's looking forward to learning more about Bambi. I can tell that he finds it difficult 'cause he kind of has that "far away" look and so I know he's thinking about his other kids.

  6. Hi Fern, You are such a strong woman, to post about Bambi and to celebrate her life is wonderful but I know I'd be sobbing as I wrote. I loved seeing her when you first got her and like the others who commented, I know there will be a time when you bring another needy pup into your home-not our timing but yours.
    Hugs today.

  13. It is so good to remember a life well-lived. Bambi was a precious soul, that much is obvious even without having met her in person.
