Three coons-- so cute and Sweet Bambi walking

Happy coming week-end dear friends! I love week-ends!!
The picture above is really a good one if I do say so myself!!! From left to right is --- Jackie, Donna standing and then Mary. Mary is my oldest coon now a days. She is 4 years old. I loved her mother so much and I miss her so. Three years ago there was a strange stray dog that took up just north of us and he ate almost all my coons!!!! I had been feeding 12 coons everyday and he got all but 3 coons. Mary was one who was smarter the that dog!! The other two were my oldest coons ever. Brother and sister coons, bitter enemies, Pretty boy and pretty girl. Pretty girl lived the longest of any coon I have ever known. She lives 8 years, her brother 7 and a half.
The picture below you all know is my wonderful rescue dog . We are going to celebrate her 13 th birthday in two weeks today!! Just 2 weeks to go!!!! I have never had a dog that old before!!
I have always had pretty big dogs and they have never lived that long. Joker made it to 12 yeas old and 2 months. I hope Bambi makes it to 14 or 15 years old!!!!!!
Bambi and I walk 3 or 4 times a day. She is really doing well on her mostly vegs diet. She gets hard boiled eggs and a little ground turkey or beef everyday too. Most of her lypoma's are gone and some have gone way down in size!!! The vet says he has never seen anything like it before!!

Have a fun and happy week end dear friends.
Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern

  1. Are your coons wild and they visit or captive and friendly? They look daggone cute either way. We had our beloved Jazzmine almost 12 years. Lost her just before to an addison's crisis. I was heartbroke for so long, the tears would just pour. But, I know, one day we'll be together again. I take comfort knowing she is at the knees of God watching over His kingdom now while waiting on us. Sometimes, I still cry but only for a bit. Hugs. Tammy

  8. Well, that Coon Family is one of the nicest looking ones I've ever seen--And the fact that they all have names and a history is a tribute to your giving them a life where they can survive--Just like your sweet Bambi! My dream is also to have a dog that I've had from a puppy to the golden age of anything over 14!

I hope you have a good weekend!!

  9. I'd love to get close enough to give those coons a good sniff over!

Hello, Miss Bambi! Lilac's birthday is on Monday and she'll be fifteen. We're thrilled that she's still with us, even though she's a bit dotty! I hope you live just as long or longer!

  11. We're so glad to hear that Bambi is doing well ... and is about to celebrate a very special birthday!

We thought of you the other day as Moma was driving home at night. A big family of coons walked (trotted) across the road, right in front of her. No one was hurt ... they seemed to have some street sense.

    Take care, Fern and Family.
    And enjoy your beginning-to-cool weather.

  14. It's amazing how you know each one of them and how old they are and everything. To strangers they kind of look alike, but you know who's who.

It's wonderful about Bambi. It sounds like you're taking wonderful care of her and that diet must be working well.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  15. Fern and Bambi-
Thanks again for sharing such a healthy recipe for dogs. I'm glad Stanzie likes it so much, we want her to be healthy and happy at age 13, just like Bambi.
We used pearl Barley and just added water when it got too thick. It seemed soft and cooked through in the 15 minutes.
