Sunday-- a little wet-- YAY

We have this little storm south of us in the Gulf and she is giving us a LITTLE sprinkle .  Lord we NEED a sprinkle, we need rain-- lots & lots of it!!!  I hope we get some real rain out of this storm.
I feel so badly with my eyes going on me!!!  For those of you who don't know I was born with only one eye--my left eye that could see.  My whole life has been affected by this.  At 6 years old I was taken to NYC for surgery to make my right eye look at others like it was seeing  and working  the same as my good eye. I had to go back the following year for a second surgery and this time it worked and I have looked normal ever since but I don't see normal I see flat.  It has kept me away from sports and real play with other kids.  I had to get an eye doctor to write a note for me to get a drivers license and that is why I don't have one now.  They will not take the risk of being sued any more!!  I had a hard time learning in school.
I am walking into things now!!  I never use to.
I do thank you so very much for coming to my blog  and leaving a comment even tho I am not making it to yours.  I miss reading your blogs so much!!!  I so appreciate your friendship so much.  I can call anybody in the US but can not call you if you are out of the US.  I wish I could call everybody!!!  If you live in the US and I don't have your ## email me it and I will call you !!!  I want to stay close b/c your my only friends .  I have a couple of friends here in Tallahassee but only a couple.  People don't have time for an old one going blind!!!!
I am hoping you all are coming back to my blog and reading my comment back to you b/c I writing them!!
I love you all!!  Zoie & Fern

  1. Hi Fern, we're up here in Vancouver, Canada. It's about 3 hours drive north of Seattle Washington. We'll come to your blog so no need to worry about us. You might need to memorize where things are in your house so you don't bump into things or maybe Tom can get you a long stick. Just make sure you know where Zoie is so that she can look after you when Tom's away.

  8. Hi Fern, once again I missed your call--Yesterday was really, really busy because of our new boy and his trip to the vet and everything else that went with it. By the time things settled down, and my errands were done it was dinner time and I knew it would be too late to call you back. Please know that I think often of you, and continue to look forward to being able to chat with you, which I PROMISE will be soon!

  12. Hi Fern, sorry I've been away. Had a busy week and since you can't read my blog, I'll tell you what happened here!

Georgia got hurt, probably jumping off a wall and gave us a real scare. That was about 10 days ago and she's much better now. Still on drugs, not allowed to play and sleeping all the time. Last night, she started farting and couldn't stop! The smell was so bad, I couldn't sleep all night and am terribly tired today which is...my birthday!

Thanks for sharing about your eyesight. I'm one of those who didn't know. It must be awful to now be losing sight in your one eye. I hope the doctor can do something for you.

Take care until the next time! HUGS to you and Zoie! X

  14. I hope the rain doesn't keep up at this pace and flood everything. So sorry to hear you are not doing so well. Please take care of yourself because we all care about you.

  15. Are you getting rain from Debby too??? We haven't had 2 inches yet.
I am just starting to lose eyesight in my good eye at a faster pace then I had been losing it.
Eye doctors have been telling me for years that this was going to happen if i got old enough, I guess 76 and a half is old enough!!

  16. We could use some rain here. I love it when I can take a break from watering the garden, because we are metered and so Mother Nature saves me money!

I'm so sorry to hear about the issue with your eyesight. I can imagine that would be very frightening. Sending you purrs and prayers!

  17. Dear Fern, some people might not have time for you but we certainly do!!! As you know my mum lost sight in one eye and she was very frail so I can understand how it must be for you.

We will always come and visit and see how you, Tom and Zoie are going. No worries there! Hope you get as much rain as you need. No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)
