It is getting that time of year

Hey Friends, in that first picture Bambi is shaking her head!! Can you tell??
It is that time a year that when you go outside the ticks jump on you from all angles !!! Bambi has become allergic to the Frontline and other tick preventive medicines, so we have to brush and flea comb her and if I didn't get any while we were out I get some than!!!
This is just one of our stevia plants. That little plant sweetens our tea and anything else we need sweeten!! It is a wonderful plant and I suggest that you all go to the nursery and buy and use them!! They are wonderful plants!!!
When Tom gos to bed he takes Happy's Christmas monkey from Jazzi and puts it on the chair. Happy loves her monkey but she will trade it for him any day!!!
The only true Camellia that is blooming right now!! It is the first to bloom just behind the Sasanqusa Camellia!!! Like Ms K said I do grow a lot of Camellias and have a messy house!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi, Happy & Fern

  2. How wonderful to still have such pretty blooms in the winter.
Mistaya got away from the ticks when we left Montana but now we have to fight the fleas. At least the ticks didn't make her scratch all the time! Fortunatly she can tolerate Advantage. What a battle.

  3. Your plants still look great and it is almost December! How do you prepare the Stevia to a sweetener? Do you mash up the leaves? Could we grow that here, where it freezes?

  6. You will not believe this, Miss Fern, but we only own 1 cell phone and it will stay home with dad. Mom has no clue how to use the darn thing anyway!
She will be bringing her camera for the first time this year. Maybe she can find a camellia to photograph!

  12. We are getting alot of ticks too--We hardly saw any all summer and then BOOM we're getting hit with them. Like you, I don't like to use Frontline, but I had to dust it off and put in on a couple of the dogs...

Your Camellia is lovely--My Christmas cactus is blooming right now--Isn't it great to have color this time of year?

  14. What a beautiful camellia! I like flowers very much. I stop to smell them on walks and if someone brings them in the house I want to smell them then, too. Don't like fleas or ticks, though. They are such a problem, even with frontline and all those things.

    lotsa licks, Lola
