We are back !!!!

Yes we are back, our inter net server went down and was down for days!!!
Tom said I went into withdrawals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did miss you all !!!!

Tinker has been getting out of the fence!!! She has been digging out!!! Today while I was watering the garden she got out. I called and she came right back in the same hole she had dough to get out. Now this is the third time she has done it!! I am an old lady and can not be covering up holes she has dough !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have got to stop this some way!!!!
I don't leave her out by herself but I am doing other things in the yard while we are out. I would hate to have to tie her up but that seems like the way it will have to go!!!!!!
Glad to be back!!!

Love coming your way, Tinker & Fern

  2. Hi Fern and Tinker, Happy and Tom, hope all is well down your way. It's turned wet, windy and cooler (around 72 degrees Fern, bbbrrr...) but we'll get snow on the mountains within the next month :)

  5. Hi Fern! Glad you're back. Anything you can put in the hole Tinker dug, like a big rock or something? Good thing she's so well trained on that return!!

  7. She doesn't look too big and this is what we used to do. We got a long rope and my husband fixed a clasp on each end. When I was working in the yard, I would clip one end on the dog's collar and the other on my belt loop. This long line is also useful when you are training the dog to come. You say the word and if the dog does not respond, you have the rope to bring her to you.

  9. Hey Tinker!
Wow, I'm glad your puter got fixed and you're back with us. We missed you too. Say, better watch that digging out thing...you could end up with less room to run. Hmmmmm Maybe stay put in your yard, okay?! We don't want you to be in the doghouse! BOL

  10. With her being so new, I'd get a long line and keep her attached to you. Call her to you every once in a while and reward her like crazy when she comes. Maybe try taking some toys out to keep her busy, too, like a Kong with something frozen in it.

  12. Hello All, sounds like everyone has good ideas to keep Tinker in your yard. If you had a solid garden pot maybe you could place that over/in front of, the hole. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  17. AHHHH Hoke is a digger too...try spraying her with a hose once she starts. We had to bury out fence 12 inches into the ground so he couldn't get out. He doesn't listen when you call him...he just keeps going so we have to be careful. At least she listens to you!

  18. Glad you are back, Fern! I once had a poodle who was a digger. he would dig out of the backyard in any spot he could find! I could never keep him in! What a mess he was. Tootie scoots outside between our legs and she is gone in a flash, all over the yard. I'll be glad when she matures a little more.

  19. I think a lot of dogs love to dig... and when they get a hole bigger enough to crawl out... they'll run like hell.. hahahhahaha

Glad she always comes when you call. I think Houndstooth's idea is good. Keep calling her once in a while.. to distract her. And reward her. She's a young dog with so much energy.

Have fun and take care both of you!

  20. Hi Fern! Have you ever thought about a clothes line with a lead? That's what we use for Gracie, because we don't have a fence. I just saw the painting of Bambi.. that is beautiful!!! You must have been so happy with it!!
I hope you're having a good week.. Tinker: stop being a little stinker, and escaping.. lol.
