Coon living in our yard

Hi Friends, We see a lot of critters around the house all the time!! Day and night
The other night we had a possum that came up the ramp to come in the back door. Ramp, yes ramp at the back door. Joker did not do stairs and to get into this house he had to go up or down three stairs. So Tom built him a ramp!! Tom is such a good guy!! I didn't get a picture of the possum wanting to come in. It did make me think about getting a picture next time tho!! So last night I got these two pictures.
This is Johnny. He is a male coon that was born to Addy. She had two babies. A girl Issy and her brother Johnny. Addy has kept her babies with her until about 2 weeks ago. It is time to mate now, so Johnny had to go. The coons run off all the males so there will not be inter breeding. Well Johnny doesn't want to go!!!
So now he is living in the yard. Bambi is real good about the wild animals, but she does not want them in her yard. She has been getting a lot of extra exercise
running around smiling were Johnny has been and were he is sleeping, b/c during this weather they sleep all day or at least most of the day. Hopefully Johnny will take off and find his own place!!
I have a coon living in our plum tree!!!
How about that??

Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern
PS I have been having lots of trouble trying to get to you guys!!

  1. The neighbors have said they have seen coons here but so far we haven't seen them during the day while the dogs are out. I can't imagine what Mistaya and Maggie would do about that!!

  2. A coon living in my plum tree - sounds like the makings of a good book:)

We don't like to tell you this, but we don't think we would be as nice as Bambi about those critters in our yards - guess that is why her name is Bambi.

  13. Aww, what a cute boy! We have some coons in our neighborhood too, though they seem to be avoiding our house. Dunno why, as Argos tends to not even notice them while we're out walking, LOL.
