My 13 year old girl

Hi blogland friends. The last post we were celebrating Bambi 's 13th birthday. In truth we don't know the exact day Bambi was born. Bambi was left by her Mother's people in a fenced in holding pond when she was around 7 to 9 weeks old. A women that worked at the shelter saw her when she was on her way to work and got her and took her to the shelter. From that time until I got her she was adopted out 3 times. The third women that had her spayed her and bought her a crate. But Bambi was not to be therese. She was suppose to be mine. I rescued her when she was in her fifth month of age.

Everybody was having birthdays with their dog and I wanted to have a birthday and sing to her and we eat too much and have a full day just for her so we did. It was her first birthday party!!!!

She loved it!!! We had a wonderful time together!!!! We had a lot of birthday wishes and we thank all of you that helped us make it special !!!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern

  3. That was so sweet of you to make this day so special for sweet Bambi. She looks so much smaller than we thought when she is snuggled in her Daddy's lap. Nice photo.

    Happy Birthday again, Bambi.

  5. I'm sure Bambi has had the happiest of lives there with you, Miss Fern! We've had friends who didn't know their birthdays and celebrated on their gotcha days, since it was the beginning of a new life for them. As long as you have a special Bambi day, that's what counts!

  7. Oh, I'm so glad you picked a special day for her. And it being her first party just shows how you're never too old for new things - especially good things. Lots of us don't know our birthdays. We have no idea what mine is, or Franlin's either. So we have Gotcha Days. Or somedogs have Barkdays. Whatever it's called, we love that you think we're worth celebrating.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  14. HELLO!!! Somehow I missed your last post, but not this one--!!!--How wonderful to be able to celebrate such a milestone with your precious girl Bambi! I loved Bambi's story of the turns she took before she FINALLY got to you!! Fate can be a funny thing and tricky road to navigate sometimes can't it? But I'm glad you celebrated this special day to mark your wonderful and long life you've had together!! Was the Coon Family invited and did they bring a gift? ;-)))

  20. I love the grey face babies the bestest!! My girl lived to just shy of her 12th. She had addison's disease, hypothyroid, syncope spells and no fluid in her joints. SHe was the BEST dog I've ever owned. I miss her still today. She is at the bridge as of 2008. She is thought of every single day.

    Hugs
    Tammy
