Hello dear blog friends!!! Yesterday you saw a pic of my G-daughter in full makeup in a modeling shoot. Yes she is a model. She is a dancer. She is an actress. She makes her living entertaining in Vegas .
Here is a picture of her without make-up!!!
That is her boyfriend who she lives with. She has been with him for a year and a half. He is a singer- dancer- actor too. He is in the Jersey Boys.
I think she is just as pretty without makeup as she is with!! What do you think??

Another Christmas past

Another Christmas has past......... They come around so fast now......... Time just flies by................

I want to thank you so very much for the birthday good wishes !!!! You made it the best birthday in a long time !!! You, my blog friends are so very important to me. For all that said, I looked so young, that picture was taken about 13 years ago...... You all have not seen a picture of me with my gray hair, but you will soon. Next week I am going to have company from one of the blog friends. I am sure she will want to take pictures.
If I had hair I would look so much better!!!! I am losing my hair !!! What I have left is just fuzz.
Tom cuts my hair and it is a JOB for him b/c it is so fine!!!!

The picture of the Angel Quilt is the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen and I watched as a friend made it..... We all did in the quilt club. That was in 1999. I joined the quilt club in 97 and belonged for 4 and a half years. I was losing the hearing in my left ear at the time and it just got so bad that I couldn't hear anyone anymore so I quit the club. I felt so isolated not being able to hear them and I told everyone to speak up but they didn't.

Thanks again for the Christmas wishes and the birthday ones too!!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!! This is my last post before Christmas. I will post after tho...........

Today is my birthday!!! I usually don't tell everyone when and how about my b-day. The reason is b/c I am so old.

Today I turn 75 years old!!!
I know you all thought I was a lot younger............... Wish you had been right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We hope you all have a great Christmas with your family and friends. It will be quiet around here. David and Cathy will come but probably not on Christmas. I never know in advance......

PS I wasn't going to tell you, but now I have changer my mind again and I am going to tell you.
I think I am in the beginning stage of Alzheimer's disease. Why you ask?? Well one of the symptoms is if one or more important things about your life changes. Your personality changes!!! One very important thing has changed!!! I use to sew all the time. I use to think about sewing all the time. It was a very big thing in my life. Now I can't sew. I have forgotten how !!!!
I go in the sewing room and draw a blank.
I use to keep my house real nice outside and inside. Now it is a mess and I don't care. I just don't care and that was not the other me. When company was coming I would clean and even paint sometimes. Everything would look good. Now -------- nothing !!!!!!!

Post # 300

Hey Friends,

As you can tell by the title of today's post, this is my # 300 post. That is a very big deal from a gal who is dyslexic and legally blind in one eye and don't see very good out of the other.
A very big deal!!! I am so hooked on telling the world about everything!!! Tom doesn't like it but he loves me and is trying to stay out of it!!

For you that are new the picture above is of Joker and I a long time ago!!! I rescued him from a couple who made their living by breeding and showing dogs. Joker was 5 and a half when he came to live with us!! He had never been in a house before!!!! He had always been in a kennel.

Joker was an Ibizan Hound. At the time there were only a few in the US. Joker was born in the UK and this couple had had him shipped over to the US. It turned out he was not a good breed dog. He didn't do well in the dog shows. He had a very bad over bite and he was too tall. They had sold him 3 times before I rescued him. I don't know why the people brought him back!!
The couple tried to sell him the forth time but got no takers in a year. They were going to put him to sleep if they couldn't get rid of him!!! We took him and we loved him so very much for 7 years!!! He was so so wonderful!!!

This was going to be a short post but I got carried a way!!!

The flower is a camellia. It is called a Pink Perfection.... It is blooming this time of year if it is not freezing!! It is warm today. The bush and buds are not hurt by cold!!
They are wonderful to have this time of year!!!

Questions today

I have tried to load pictures two times today and they will not load. So I guess I will just go a head
and ask my questions. We went to the farmers market and got some fresh cranberries. I don't have a favorite recipe for cranberry sauce. I have never made it before. I am from a Mother who was not a home-maker. Do you make cranberry sauce?? What is your favorite way to make it???

We like brussel sprouts. I have roasted them and they were alright that way. We didn't not like them that way, but they were not our favorite. We have boiled them in water and in chicken broth. Liked them better in chicken broth. How do you cook them??

It is cold!!!!!

It is cold!!! Tuesday morning it was 22 degrees. Wednesday morning it was 21 degrees. Thursday morning (this AM) again 21 degrees. Now I know that you people in the north have it a lot colder but we are in FLORIDA!!! We are running 20 to 25 degrees below normal!!!

When we have our first cold snap you will not see the coons out and about in the day time any more until spring!!! They let by gone be by gone and huddle close!! No matter what has gone down before it is over now. Survival is all that counts now!!! They will curl up 3 and 4 together.

While it is so cold I thought I would bring out one of my roses!!!

I had so much trouble on Internet Explorer I have gone to a better browser. It has been a little
better!! It still takes a lot lot of time!!! Usually when I hit comment it gos through though!!!!!
It still takes really more time than I have but so far so good!!

Adoption and hard freeze!!!

Hey Friends, it is cold in Florida!!! Our high is suppose to be 45 degrees today with a feel like temperature of 38 degrees.

Tonight it is suppose to get to 22 degrees!!! A hard freeze!!! Not good for the coons!!! They will be bunching together to stay warm. All hard feeling GONE!!!! SURVIVAL is all that counts tonight!! This cold spell is suppose to last until Thursday or Friday............

The little cartoon picture is to remind you all to adopt a pet as soon as you can. There is so many who need you!!! I am ready are you!!!

Trying to stay healthy

Hi Friends, Tom and I use to go out to eat every week-end! I did say use to. We don't any more.
In 03 I got sick and came very close to dying!!! Too close ! In 04 I got sick and again came way too close to dying. We decided that if we wanted to keep me around we better stay home!! Tom stated doing all the grocery shopping. We bought a new stove. The idea was to keep me away from germs and get healthy!!!!!! We started trying to eat organic food and way less meat. This getting healthy has taken a good while. But it is working!! This is just the start of flu season, I know. I hope to make another season without getting sick b/c if I do it will be 5 years without getting a cold or the flu!!!!!!! We are what we eat!!! For those of you who have to shop, wear gloves that you can throw away or wash everything you are out and about. That is what I have been doing for all these years when I go with Tom to get groceries.

I have a man who helps cook. Does your man help cook?? I have noticed that they get a lot more dishes dirtier than a woman would do, doing the same job!!! Have you noticed that about your man?? I love that he likes to help and his dishes are very tasty!!! Tell me about your dinner time??

It is getting that time of year

Hey Friends, in that first picture Bambi is shaking her head!! Can you tell??
It is that time a year that when you go outside the ticks jump on you from all angles !!! Bambi has become allergic to the Frontline and other tick preventive medicines, so we have to brush and flea comb her and if I didn't get any while we were out I get some than!!!
This is just one of our stevia plants. That little plant sweetens our tea and anything else we need sweeten!! It is a wonderful plant and I suggest that you all go to the nursery and buy and use them!! They are wonderful plants!!!
When Tom gos to bed he takes Happy's Christmas monkey from Jazzi and puts it on the chair. Happy loves her monkey but she will trade it for him any day!!!
The only true Camellia that is blooming right now!! It is the first to bloom just behind the Sasanqusa Camellia!!! Like Ms K said I do grow a lot of Camellias and have a messy house!!!

Hello dear friends, While the rest of you are in the deep freeze we are cooler but not in the freeze. Here is a couple pictures of our greenery. The picture below is one of our Oregano plants.


The two above is our Sasanqua Camellia that is blooming this time a year.

We had a lovely Thanksgiving with our fresh caught fish!! Haven't heard from David and Cathy b/c they are at her family this week-end and I never hear from them when they are there.

That is part of the trouble having a son. When you have a son and he is married to someone who doesn't live close then they will be at her family's place on those special days and they come to see you just before or just after, but thank God they come!!!

Tom has taken the whole Thursday- Friday- Saturday-Sunday off and that is wonderful!! We have been having a great time together. I love it when he is home!! We cook together and have the best meals and talks. I love it!!!

We are having beautiful weather !

Hi dear friends, I thought I would show you a couple pictures of our garden, pictures taken yesterday!! The picture above is swiss chard. We dearly love swiss chard!! We try to have some every week even if we have to get some from the farmers market.

You all know what the picture above the chard is?? Right? We love yellow peppers here so we grow some. Again if we need to we get some from the farmers market.
I thought since it is cold in most of our country I would show you the garden! It is not cold here at all. We got up to 80 degree today. They say that we might get some rain on Friday, but it is not a big chance. It is going to be 80 degrees on Thanksgiving. We have had our turkey so on Thursday we are going to have fresh caught fish that a customer brought us.
We have really good customers!!
The top photo is our sweet Bambi that is doing very well. Her ear is pretty much healed up!!
I think she looks real good for her age!!

I want to wish every one a happy Thanksgiving!!! Enjoy your meal and your family even if your family is small. Love is the only thing that is important!!!

The Grand Canyon!! They just came back from a trip to the grand Canyon. They loved it- who wouldn't!!!
They spent the week-end and the visit was really great. We went out to dinner Friday night. We spent 3 hours doing that!! Saturday we had our Thanksgiving dinner. We had it out in the yard. It was such a beautiful day. We all helped so it didn't turn out to be too much work.
They loved the garden and of all the time that they have been here while we have had the garden this was the first time they really looked at it. They went home with a stevia plant and were so happy we gave them a natural sweetener plant!!! They need to get off sugar!!! That plant has helped us do just that!! We have been off sugar for a year next February.
It was a very enjoyable week-end.

Hi friends, The other day when it was raining we ended up with 2 inches and a half. That was more rain then we had had in 2 and a half months!!!

Oh my, I didn't know I hit the rose picture two times, oh well it is a nice picture. I had so many beautiful roses!!! People use to say to me, why don't you enter the rose show. I didn't grow them for show, I grew them for me!!! That was good enough!!

It's Wednesday Nov. 17 2010

Hi Blog friends, Bambi went to the vets yesterday at 5:30 PM. The vet took her bandage and stitches off and out!!!! He said she had done excellent. The womb was in great shape and now I had to really watch her and keep her from scratching it!!

The picture above was taken when I had the big garden going and I spent 6 hours a day working in that garden!!!

The picture above that one is Bruce!! My German Shepherd Dog!!! The only puppy I have ever had from 6 weeks now!! I cried for a solid month after losing him.

Mistaya, I tried what you said to do and I must have a different soft wear then you. I got Tom to check it out and he said the same thing. Thank you so much for trying to help. I have a 98 computer and I have a lot of things that are different then the newer computers!!

Lynn I'm sososoo glad you were not in that awful pile up!!! Yes God is good!!!
