The week-end is coming

We have some tomatoes up and they are already blooming.  The garden is in a hurry this year.  Last year wasn't a good year for the garden, it was too HOT and it was too DRY..   So far it is still too dry!!!!  We are already 3.7 inches short on rain and the dry months haven't even been here yet!!!
I was raised from birth to 7 and a half years old in a 12 ft travel trailer.  It was hard on us all.  Mother only cooked breakfast once in a while so I got no help learning to eat right or cook. When moving in the bigger trailer 24 ft. that had a little kitchen Mother still didn't cook anything but breakfast. We have a John in that trailer but that was all. No place to take a bath.  I was 10 year old before I lived in a place that had a bathroom and a shower!!!!!
Mother still didn't cook much of anything but breakfast.  I got no training in cooking or eating right or buying food!!!
Mother didn't clean house a lot either.  When it got bad in the house she had a maid come in and clean it!!
I have come a long way from that little trailer!!!
Have a wonderful week-end dear friends.  I will not be around much this week-end.  Tom will be home!!!  YAY
Love coming your way, Happy & Zoie & Fern

  2. Fresh tomatoes sound sooooo good. Our weather has not permitted us to plant yet. I do usually plant tomatoes because we love them! Have a great weekend with Tom!

  3. Hi Fern, You've made me realize how much I've taken for granted and although I had a rough childhood I did have a nice home and my mom did cook. Sending hugs to all of you today.

  8. Hi Fern, I suppose that living in a smaller place might make it tough on everyone but you've come along ways since then. You have enough room for yourself and tom as well as Zoie and Happy. I think that's pretty good. We're at least 2 to 3 months away from having our first garden tomato. It's cool up here and rainy still :(

  9. WOW! I remember we were homeless for a while when I was a child. We had to live with relatives in two different houses! It was an interesting time, but if you don’t know any different, you accept it. have a great weekend, Fern x
