Good Morning friends!!! Zoie eats a lot and we really can't afford what I want to feed her. I want her to have quality food, not Wal-mart food!!!! So some dear friends here in town ( 2 ladies) are buying her quality food for us so that Zoie can have very good food!!! I cook for Zoie too. I think the cooked food helps her even more. I cook a grain and green beans and other vegetables for her. When I have lunch Zoie wants food too so I give her the food I have cooked for her. A small amount b/c she always wants way more food then she gets and believe me she gets enough!!!!!!!!!!!!! Too much probably!!!!
Love coming your way, Zoie & Fern

Ferne, way back before I knew anything about nutrition for dogs, I raised one of my healthiest and best Labs on Old Roy dog food from Walmart and he lived to be almost 13 years old. Dogs thrive on a loving environment and that is what you are giving Zoie.

That's good that you are cooking for Zoie. It does make a difference and should be alright as long as you offer her a variety and be aware of food that is not good for them. Zoie looks lovely and you're definitely doing a good job!
ReplyDeleteSome dogs just don't have a satiety center and would eat and eat and eat if you kept feeding them. Our Goldens are just the right size but they would eat three times more if we would give it to them. Good for you to keep Zoie trim and healthy.
ReplyDeleteMiss Fern, Zoie sure is lucky to have a momma who luvs her enough to worry abouts what she eats AND to cook for her. Yep, Most Lucky indeed!

So glad you have such special friends who buy good food for Zoie. I think your cooking for her is wonderful too-I'm back to adding cooked chicken in Reggie's food(he is pretty spoiled).
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

You have some very nice friends, Fern! I know Zoie loves all the great veggies you're cooking for her too.
ReplyDeleteI love how you love your girl.
ReplyDeleteThere are some very nice people around! Hope Zoie really enjoys :)
ReplyDeleteHi,,,,and thanks for stopping by to meet me. You know,,,,all dogs are jokers at heart,,,and just about all of us will eat too much if we are given the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Zoie is getting the good food. I was also glad to see a pic of Happy. I've been wondering how she is doing. Bless her little heart!
ReplyDeleteZoie looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good to Zoie! She looks beautiful. Glad you have such good friends that are helping you out with Zoie's food. My dogs eat veggies also. They love raw carrots but I don't give them but a couple of baby carrots a day.I am so thrilled that you and Zoie have each other! Hugs to you both and of course to Happy also!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Zoie has the best of everything!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch
I cook a turkey, rice, and carrot concoction for Indy. He is so much healthier since I started doing that.

ReplyDeletenothing like a home cooked meal!! AND nothing wrong with Walmart food!!
ReplyDeleteHi Fern, the fact that you're looking after Zoie so well shows in her coat and how she relates to you. I know that she knows that you're giving her special treatment. I bet a lot of love and care goes into the food that you give her. You're a good person Fern.
ReplyDeleteHi sweeties! Thanks for stopping by and holding my paw today. My Human is home now and says the Big Project at work is all done and she will be home more now. We'll see!
ReplyDeleteZoie is so lucky to have your cooked for her. Home cooked cook is always the best.

Dear Zoie,
ReplyDeleteI also always want more food than I get, and believe me, unlike you, I do NOT get enough food. They keep me on a perpetual diet because I tend to gain weight out of thin air...so unfair!!! Well...I guess we should just...
Keep on wagging,
Tootsie
