Why I am hurtung

Why I am hurting!!!  About 3 or 4 weeks ago I just couldn't stand my DIRTY kitchen floor any longer.  It had been maybe a years or almost a year since it had been mopped  It was   awful!!  So I mopped it but of course it didn't get clean enough.   So the next couple of days later I got down on my knees to scrub it !!!  I couldn't do a lot of the floor but I did do the really bad spots and it looks better but while doing it I started to hurt!!!  I couldn't really finish the floor. The pain is in my lower back and in the middle of my back it is burning!! It feels very very hot!!!!!.  Also I am hurting in my right leg from the knee to the hip and it hurts like mad when I walk on it.  I can take a lot of pain but the burning  is new to me.  Also maybe Zoie has done her part to help me be in trouble.  When we walk --she is running and she will every once in a while body slam  me!!!  She has done that probably  5 or 6 times.  She has not knocked me down but it is hurting this old body!!  I may look younger then I am but the body is 76 years old and has worked very hard most all my life!!!  My body is very tired!!!  If we had any money I could have a cleaning crew come in and clean up this very dirty house but sadly we don't have any money and can't afford help!!!  And I am so tired !!!! so tired!!!

I hope you all have a good week-end!!!
Love coming your way,  Zoie & Fern

  2. Oh Dear Fern, that is not good for you. I am sorry your back is so bad. Have you been to the Drs? Please go if you haven't already. I hope you can find out what is wrong very soon so it can be fixed or the Dr may prescribe medication. Take care. Love Carol (and Stella and Rory). x x

  4. My mom went to the hospital two days ago because she was having pain in her lower back and it seems to me you need to go to the doctor's or the emergency room too. At first the doctor's thought my mom had heart issues but it turned out that the pain was due to osteoporosis and she is in her early 70's. I'm no doctor but I would guess you have osteoporosis. I hope you find out what's wrong! I realize you can't afford to see the doctor but he cannot refuse to help you!
By the way, that is a great picture of the two of you!

  12. Mario's mom here - So sorry about your back pain. I have it too. Yes, I suggest you get to a doctor and get something to help you with the pain. It should probably be x-Rayed too just to make sure it is arthritis. That's my case - and nothing can be done about it, but at least I have pain pills that help a lot.

  13. I agree with Mitch that it could be something like muscle spasm'. I have been having backache at my lower lumbar and the doctor told me that it was muscle spasm, the back was stiff so the blood circulation wasn't good. Try some warm pad or do some very light back bend exercises to loosen up the back muscle. Some massage might be able to help too.

I hope all the pains get away soon and you 're feeling better.

  14. Oh dear. That sounds painful. Hopefully the pain would ease up with some rest. As for the kitchen floor, maybe you could wipe just a little at a time instead of trying to complete the whole kitchen in one session? And try to sit on a stool while you use your foot to wipe the floor rather than squat and bend over at the waist to wipe with your hands.

  15. Fern,
My sister Linda just had the same thing. About 1 month ago she remembers that something popped and it took about 4 weeks for it to start hurting. She woke up one morning with pain. She was in so much pain that she went to the ER and was in the hospital for 1 week on morphine for the pain until they found out what it was. Turns out there was inflammation in the back and something had popped out of place. They gave her a cortizone shot and she does pyhsical therapy and is on pain pills at home. She cant sit up or move much. Whatever popped out needs to pop back on its own. Tonight she called and she had a pop tonight while doing her exercises. She had the burning also and she said it is very painful. I would suggest going to the ER. I believe she did put heat on it too. It could be muscle spasms too.
Let us know how you are doing and I hope it gets better ASAP. They have to treat you at the Emergency room

    Love

  16. Hey Fern. Gosh I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. Having the ouchies is awful. I like everyone's suggestions. Heat can help too. Maybe a good heating pad and lots of rest. I'm also sending you tons of my healing vibes and loving thoughts.

  17. Hi Fern, okay forget the floor, a good sweep and a light mop in the future should be enough. A deep down scrub given what's its done to you isn't worth the pain. You'll need to rest and maybe have Tom rub in some A535 or some other pain-relieving cream, like the alcohol and wintergreen suggested above to take some of the nasty knots out. Ads far as Zoie and body-slamming - whenever she does that yell "ouch" really loud. Then don't acknowledge or pet her. Wait a moment, then get her to sit or something else, then reward that good behavior. Hopefully she will associate your loud yelling of the word "ouch" for something bad and being rewarded for doing something good.

  21. Dear Fern, I'm so sorry to hear about this-sounds like it is your sciatic nerve acting up...try icing it. I so understand how much our bodies can act up as we get older. In fact, I overdid at yoga today and feel so weak now-time for a rest I think. Praying you feel better soon.
    Hugs, Noreen & Reggie
