How I spent my Memorial Day's

Happy Memorial Day to you!!!!
This was one of the family businesses we had I worked from age 8 to age 15 and a half. This kind of businesses you work everyday!! We had an ice cream jeep too!! I worked that as well.
When I married at a very young age the next thing I knew was we were in business for our selves again. A gas station!!! The kind of business you work everyday!!!!!!! We were in 5 businesses before the marriage was over!!! I never drew a salary in any of the businesses. I
certainly did learn who to handle money tho!!!!!!!!!! That is why we have enough money to pay cash for Tom's hernia surgery.
I have lived a hard life and my body knows it. I can't work like I use to. I can't get through washing dishes by hand without a brake in the middle. Tom helps a lot lately with the dishes and he loves to cook so we work in the kitchen together!!! That is so nice ,would have never happened with the first hubby.
Have a good one , Bambi & Fern

  4. Knowing how to handle money is a art, to be sure. I just wonder how the young people today will make it on their own when their people give them everything.
When I went to college, one of the girls on my floor came from an old, fine and very wealthy family She worked a side job for all 4 years even though her family could have easily paid the tutions of ten or more girls. She would inherit a large fortune and her family was intent the she would grow the fortune and not squander it.

  6. Hard work all your life...that is our generation, Fern. I have worked at something since I was 15 years old. Paid my own way through college (with just a little help from my parents) and worked every year I was married except one. I think we need a pat on the back!

  12. Life lessons that we think are hard at the time are the ones that teach us what we need to know later in life.

  14. Hi, thanks for visiting me, a Maltese pup.
You love animal and I love you.
You've worked hard all your life, I respect you for that.
I work hard too but only for food. A piece of cheese would motivate me to perform any cute acts.
    You take care, aunty Fern.
    Cheers!
