How I spent my Memorial Day's

Happy Memorial Day to you!!!!
This was one of the family businesses we had I worked from age 8 to age 15 and a half. This kind of businesses you work everyday!! We had an ice cream jeep too!! I worked that as well.
When I married at a very young age the next thing I knew was we were in business for our selves again. A gas station!!! The kind of business you work everyday!!!!!!! We were in 5 businesses before the marriage was over!!! I never drew a salary in any of the businesses. I
certainly did learn who to handle money tho!!!!!!!!!! That is why we have enough money to pay cash for Tom's hernia surgery.
I have lived a hard life and my body knows it. I can't work like I use to. I can't get through washing dishes by hand without a brake in the middle. Tom helps a lot lately with the dishes and he loves to cook so we work in the kitchen together!!! That is so nice ,would have never happened with the first hubby.
Have a good one , Bambi & Fern

  1. You have had a busy life Fern, and it sounds like you are enjoying your life now. A good man is a gift from God. Happy Holiday to both of you! Gail and Mistaya

  2. Sounds like you know the meaning of work! Time to relax some now, my friend....take care and keep smiling!

  3. I'm sure you have lots of interesting stories from your work experiences!
I'm so glad you have Tom to help you now!

  4. Knowing how to handle money is a art, to be sure. I just wonder how the young people today will make it on their own when their people give them everything.
When I went to college, one of the girls on my floor came from an old, fine and very wealthy family She worked a side job for all 4 years even though her family could have easily paid the tutions of ten or more girls. She would inherit a large fortune and her family was intent the she would grow the fortune and not squander it.

  5. You have led a very interesting life my friend.. I enjoy hearing about you.. Hugs GJ xx

  6. Hard work all your life...that is our generation, Fern. I have worked at something since I was 15 years old. Paid my own way through college (with just a little help from my parents) and worked every year I was married except one. I think we need a pat on the back!

  7. It's interesting finding out about you Fern, you have certainly lived a full life and experienced so much.

  8. Like the old pictures. Enjoy Tom, he sounds like a keeper.

  11. Fern what you have is gathered experience that makes you who you are today!

  12. Life lessons that we think are hard at the time are the ones that teach us what we need to know later in life.

  13. Hi Fern...we were very interested to read about all of the jobs you have had. You certainly have good work ethic and know how to save money.

  14. Hi, thanks for visiting me, a Maltese pup.
You love animal and I love you.
You've worked hard all your life, I respect you for that.
I work hard too but only for food. A piece of cheese would motivate me to perform any cute acts.
    You take care, aunty Fern.
