Predator

Look at this face.  This beautiful dog is becoming a full blown predator!!!!!!!!!!!   She has been here 7 months and 21 days now and in that time she has killed rabbits, moles, raccoons and this morning her first bird---is nothing safe??????????
We have had over 5 inches of rain with our storm.  For some people that live closer to the coast it has been very bad for them.  Storm surge, power outage, trees falling, water in their homes, I feel so sorry for them.  For us it has been just  rain, some branches down and bugs galore, all kinds   I go out suited up so no skin is showing but my face, not my hair, or ears or hands!!!  Still I am bit 6 or 7 times.  I have got to get something to cover my face too!!!!  Mosquitoes can kill now a days!!!

Love coming your way, Zoie & Fern

  1. Mosquitoes can definitely kill or at least irritate the bejeebees out of you ;) You should be able to get a good repellent at the chemist? We don't leave home without it in summer. Hugs x

    P.S. Zoie's a hunting dog alright!

    1. Mosquitoes do actually make you sick and many have died!!! They carry diseases that kill horses and people and know after the storm and so much rain they are so thick you can see them in the air!!

  2. How we wish we could get some decent rain lately! We have a lot of mosquitoes here and they are mean and nasty!

  7. Hi Fern, well I hope that the other little critters will stay away from Zoie. We've seen newscasts of the weather down your way. Hopefully it stops soon. Bugs and mosquitoes, great...they all seem to like my dad :(

  8. Mosquitoes want to eat me alive too so I know how you feel. I've found some decent non-toxic repellants out there that work...when I remember to put it on.

Zoie is quite the hunter! But how could you not love that sweet face?

    1. I use to forget to put something on too but since Debby has been here with all the mosquitoes she has brought all you have to do is look out the window and you can SEE them waiting for you to come out!!! I hate to have to put something on to keep them from eating me alive!!!

  10. Hi Fern,

Well, she IS a hunting dog. Still, I'm so sorry for the baby racoon and other animals. I won't let my cats out of the house because they kill the bunnies and birds. There are so many mice and voles that I've stopped feeling too bad for them anymore. They poop and pee on everything - gross!!

    1. Hi Phyllis, yes she is a hunter--she was bred for that!! I have had many others that were bred for that too but they were not hunters at all, but I guess it was b/c of their puppy-hood.
      Hope your doing OK!!!!

  11. Hi Fern, Oh that face, how can she really be a predator; it is in her genes. She probably feels like she is protecting you. I can't believe you have had her this long-boy do the months fly by. I am extremely allergic to mosquito bites and have found the Cutter brand belt fan works well if you are staying in the same place, otherwise I'll just use repellant. Glad someone has the rain because we don't and could use it.
    Hugs, Noreen

    1. And she is so big the critters don't have a chance. She can run faster then they can. Their only hope is to get to a tree and up it before she gets them!!

  20. Racoons can be pretty feisty, she must be brave and determined to go after those critters. I would probably cry about the bunnies, though. :-(
