Friends, I think I am just about strawberry-ed out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been harvesting them 2 times a day now since February the 26th. I have been getting 20 to 60 berries everyday. We have 200 in the ground and 15 in pots. I have a freezer full of berries. I have berries in the sink soaking there-waiting for me to fix them for the freezer or for today or tomorrow consumption. I am tired of harvesting them and I am tired of trying to think of ways to use them!!! I am straw berried out!!! NOT TIRED OF EATING THEM THO!!!
Love coming your way, Zoie & Fern

ReplyDeleteBlessings,

Goose we would love to share our berries with you, come on down!!
DeleteMy father said he never got to eat a fresh strawberry. My mom always froze so many that she made him eat the last of the frozen when the new crop came in. Wish we still had them but they are pretty much gone for this year.
ReplyDeleteCome on down--they are still going strong here!!!
DeleteHi Fern, it's finally strawberry season up here. It's been a very cool Spring. And with summer starting tomorrow, the sun and some heat (maybe 70 degrees will start). If we lived closer, we'd come over and help you eat all the berries :)
ReplyDeleteYou surely would be welcome to come and eat berries with us!!!! I have a freezer full!!!
DeleteThey sure look yummy! Have you had strawberry ice cream yet, Zoie?!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Don't know how to make ice cream with out any sugar do you??
DeleteOh poor you! I had some strawberries the other day and found I was allergic!!!! Strawberry ice cream is lovely, though :) xox
ReplyDeleteOh Carolyn I am sorry you are allergic~~~~
DeleteWere you ever able to eat them???
Yes I used to, but I have so many food intolerances now due to M.E. :( xx
DeleteTHAT is just Wonderful Miss Fern. I know how much YOU and Mr. Tom Love your Strawberries. Sooooo good fur you too.
ReplyDeleteGood for you when they are organic, yes!!!
DeleteDid you have fun shopping Saturday???
Glad you aren't tired of eating them. That would be crazy!
ReplyDeleteYes, how could we get tired of eating them--they are so good!!!
DeleteHow exciting to get those berries!!
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
It was very exciting at first but now it is WORK!!!!!
DeleteHow I wish I could be there to help you snarfle them lol. It's so hard to get tasty strawberries here. I think the last time I had memorable strawberries was in the 90s in Brisbane, freshly picked on a farm. I kid you not. The ones we get in our local supermarket should have been left to die in the ground, they're so tasteless. And they cost too much.
ReplyDeleteDo you make jams or bake/cook with them?
Ours are just like coming from an organic farm b/c we grow organic and they taste so good. A lot of work but so good!! We eat them everyday!!!! Some days 2 times a day!
DeleteMmmmm strawberries. Makes us think of Summer and wishing it was here. HOpe your day is wonderful. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteyes you are in the dead of winter aren't you??? Sorry!!!
DeleteMMmm I'd love some of yours, I must get to the Farmer's Market next Monday to pick some up before they are done for the season.
ReplyDeleteOurs are organic grown!! They are getting where they are some times not as sweet as they were a month or two ago.. Maybe the soil is wearing out???? Good Lord those berries have given 1,000's and 1,000's of berries!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Fern! I feel the same way about our blackberries that you do about your strawberries--I wish we could trade! :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing well--Its been a long, long sad week for us with Sam, but I'm a little better today. Take care, and I'll look forward to catching up soon!
