Oh she is so pretty!!!
I have left some replies on my last blog for you. not all of you yet but maybe I'll get to more later today.
My mind is going people!!! I think it was yesterday or the day before that--------that Zoie got out of the fence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh LORD HELP!!!!!! I would wake up in the AM and let Zoie out while I got dressed, which only takes a few minutes. I put on a T-shirt and PJ bottoms, socks and boots and I am good to go. It only takes a minute!!! Zoie has always been there on the porch waiting for me and then we go for our first walk of the day. Now I can't let her out without me. Well I open the door and she isn't there!!!!!! I call---no Zoie!!! I call and walk the whole 2 and a half acres calling---no Zoie!!!! So I go out the gate and head for the North side of our land.
There is a house on 10 acres with no fence!! No people have lived there for 4 or 5 years now and the place is very grown up!!! I call and I call-----then she comes running up grinning from ear to ear!!!
She is so happy to see me!!!! I scold her for being out of the fence!!! She says "sorry but there is so many critters over here to catch Mom" "They call me over"
Dear Friends, I have walked the fence line over and over again and I can not find out where she is getting out!!!!
So I can not let her out without me not even for a minute!!! Ok more work for this old lady!!!
Love you guys so much!!!!
Zoie is in the house!!!! xx, Fern

Hi Fern, maybe you could go out with Zoie putting her on a long lead to see where she goes. Maybe she'll take you to the hole in the fence.
ReplyDeleteI have walked and walked the fence line with Zoie and without and there is no hole in the fence or under the fence, I am sure of that. I don't know how she is getting out????????????????
DeleteHi Fern...hmmmmm does Zoie has an accomplice on the other side of the fence?
DeleteSo sorry Zoie has found an escape route. I do hope you find it so you can let her out by herself again. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!!
DeleteIsn't it amazing! You'll have to tell us if by chance you discover Zoie's secret.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Zoie is a smart girl. She has found a way out of the fence that I can't find!!!!! YET!!!!
DeleteHopefully, you can find out how Zoie escaped and stop her. It's scary when your dog gets out like that and you have to go looking for her! She loves you though and came running back. Good girl!
ReplyDeleteCandy
Yes, my dogs do love me b/c I love them so much and they know it!! I give my heart to them and they give their heart to me!!
DeleteThat's very cheeky of Zoie! But at least she came back (eventually) when you called. I sure hope you find her escape route pretty soon.
ReplyDeleteA-men!!!
DeleteSo glad she returned Fern. I know how scary that can be, Hunter got loose on the front lawn recently and he decided to go for a walk about. If I chase him, he runs but thankfully when I got down on my knees and called him he came right away...but he doesn't usually come. Got to start working on training.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day my friend.
Noreen
Zoie always comes when called if she can hear me that is!! All my dogs have come when called, even Tinker would. Even when she was out of the fence she would come.
DeleteThat empty house next door is not helping at all with all the critters around that house!!!!
I never whip a dog when I call them and they come. Even when Zoie showed up when we were next door I scolded her for being away from home but not in a yelling voice, only a conversational voice. Zoie is so smart. She understands everything I say to her. She knew she had done wrong.
It sounds like Zoie took you for a walk, Fern! Glad you found her. Georgia loves bounding off looking for critters too. It's the pigdog in her.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't give Z a hard time when she came back to you, even though she took ages to answer. If you give her a scold, she'll think "what's the point of coming back?" Lots of pats, a cuddle and a treat always work better :)
Zoie is a Weimaraner and they were bred to hunt and she was hunting!! She can smell them over there and it is so hard for her to resist!!
DeletePlease don't run next door anymore, Zoie. Miss Fern worries about you!
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Yes, Mitch and Molly I do WORRY!!!!
DeleteOoh that must be so scary for you! I hope she stays put or you find the hole soon.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh yes Oskar it is so so so scary when she is not in the fence!!!!! I am looking and looking!!
DeleteOh Zoie....they are going to get spy cameras
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
That is a good idea-- but for 2 and a half acres it would take a bunch of cameras!!!
DeleteI SHOULD be able to see where she is getting out. But I can not!!
I have known Weims that have climbed fences. Chain link and wood. I am not kidding. If we have our minds set on something we can do it. We are very smart like that. I hope Zoey listens to you and or you find where or how she is getting out.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Goose
Hi Goose,
DeleteYes she is a super smart girl!! I think she is climbing the chin link fence b/c there is no hole anywhere in the fence!!!!
No hole under the fence and that would have to be a BIG BIG hole for to get under.
The only way is she is jumping over or climbing the fence to get out!! She doesn't want to run away she is just hunting as she was breed to do!!
OMD Zoie..please don't scare your Mom like that again! Are you are secret jumper practising for the olympics? Stay home safe ans ound pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteBig Nose Pokes
The Thugletsx
Yes I think she is jumping or climbing !!
DeleteThat must have been extremely scary for you Fern. I remember our miniature schnauzer followed some kids to school one day when we had let him our first thing in the morning. I started walking the neighborhood looking for him and eventually met a 3rd grader walking in my direction with him on a leash. She knew he souldn't have left our yard and was bringing him home again. After that we had to chain him up first thing in the morning until one of us could get dressed to take him for his walk - usually within an hour. My husband used to have a Weim before we were married. Duke was always taking off - just following his nose!!
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, don't tell me this is going to be a whole life thing?????????????????????
DeleteI have got to get her to stay home some way!!! Give her MORE MORE MORE LOVE!!!!!!
It was so scary! I'm so glad that Zoie came home at last. That was a bit naughty of her and I hope you could find out her secret route soon.
ReplyDeleteAs I have said I think she is climbing the chin link to get out!!
DeleteThat sounds like the weim my husband had. He was always taking off, so eventually they had to chaim him up and built a dog run for him with a fence around it. I hate to say it, but I think it goes with the breed. They are a hunting dog and one sent of whatever they hunt and they are following their nose.
