Today is a rainy day, thank the Lord!!!! We need it so badly!! I have a lot of new followers that have not seen Joker and Amanda. Of course the top pic is cute Bambi. Than the Whippet I rescued Amanda. What a wonderful girl she was!!! I loved every minute with her!!! We were together 6 years before kidney failure took her. If only I had known what I know now!! Then Joker!!!! He was so special!! I rescued him from death. He was 5 and a half and the people were ready to kill him b/c he was not a good breed dog!!! He had never been in a house in his life when he walked into ours. He was wonderful. He never tour anything up and only messed in the house
the first minute he walked in the house. I took that as nerves. He never did again!!!
I loved every minutes with him too!! Cancer and we found out his kidney was going bad too just at the very end. I am working very hard so that is not what takes Bambi!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern

  1. I've been around your blog for awhile as you know, and I continue to enjoy hearing your stories about your pups--Even when I've heard them before, it's always a good reminder that in the world where so many bad things happen, there are good ones like you who tip the scale in a good direction!

We have rain here in Northern VA too--Much needed and appreciated! Enjoy your day!!

We had over an inch of rain here, and needed it badly, but now all the beautiful leaves are on the ground...

  4. Thanks for those photos and stories. I didn't know about Joker or Amanda I don't think.

What happened with Blog Mom's foot and leg was way back last summer, when we were adopting Franklin. She stepped backward into a hole in the dog run at the animal shelter and tore all kind of things up. She say it's because she's 60 years old that it's taking so long to heal, she thinks. It is a LOT better, though.

    lotsa licks, Lola

  5. Fern that is a great pic of Bambi, of course we knew it was her cute self.

Thank you for sharing and introducing us to the other dogs you had.
What sweet babies they looked like and I know they had a wonderful life with you while they were here.

  6. Great pics, Fern. Joker and Amanda were such nice-looking dogs. Too bad about the evil cancer - we wish we could just will it away. We had rain last Friday and more coming tomorrow. We were hoping for snow.

  10. Love coming your way too, Fern and Bambi.

We had horrible rain and fog today - there was a 75 car/tractor trailer pile up on the mountain. Kat and I were very blessed to make it through just minutes before it stated happening. God is good.
