Hey dear friends!!! Last Thursday Bambi's right ear started to swell up!! During the day it got larger and larger. I called the vets and he said to bring her in. Of course I couldn't do that b/c I don't have anything to drive here. So Friday morning Tom took Bambi in to have surgery on her right ear. The vets had to drain the fluid from her ear. She had a Hematoma. A blood vassal had burst filling her ear with blood. She came through just fine!! Thank the Lord!!! She has to go back to the vets next Thursday.
I am sorry I have not gotten to all of you that had commented on my last blog yet. It has been a little busy around here this week-end!! Bambi can not be out of sight. When you're not looking, she will scratch her ear. So I have to have eyes on her all the time except when she is sleeping!!
So I will be very busy for a few days!!! Well probably more than a few days!!LOL
Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern
How scary! I'm so glad that Bambi is okay! Give her a hug from us and tell her we hope she's feeling better soon!

HI Fern and Bambi, So glad that she is o.k. Wow what a scare! My friends dog got bit by a brown recluse spider and it could have been tragic if she didn't get her to the vets. I'm thankful for vets that help our little guys.
ReplyDeleteHope you get some rest this week.
Hugs, Noreen
Oh Fern, so gald Bambi ok, it looks like your in for a tiring time, cat napping springs to mind!
ReplyDeleteBest Wishes to all of you

So glad that Bambi is going to be okay. Did your vet give you an E-Collar to use? Hope so, that will help beautifully when Bambi wants to scratch again. They are awkward for the dogs to use, however, they will prevent further damage and will heal much easier and faster which is excellent for everyone involved. Hope you can get one. They are not expensive either. We had to have one for our boxer, our collie, and our pug. I highly recommend them for the healing process.
ReplyDeleteGood luck,

We are so glad to hear that Bambi is okay! I know how hard it is to not allow them to scratch...quite a job to keep an eye on them.
ReplyDeleteHugs and wags, Mistaya and M.O.M.
Oh no, poor Bambi - hope her ear will be OK. Can you put an e-collar on her so she can't get at her ear? Of course, Phantom would tell you that would be just torturing her.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week and take care.
