It was suggested that I tell you about the dogs I have had in my past.
I have talked about them before but it was back in 09 so I guess I will tell you more in depth about our Joker.
Joker was an Ibsen Hound, a sight hound, the gens that the Greyhound came from. The Ibsen Hound has been on earth millions of years. I really don't know much about other Ibsen's but Joker was the very best dog any one could have. He really needed us!!! He was bought by a couple that made there living showing and breeding dogs. The Ibsen in this country at that time was very rare!! Joke didn't turn out to be a good breed dog. They couldn't show him!! They did breed him tho!! They had him 5 and one half years. They tried to sell him for 2 or 3 years for too much money.
He only ever lived in a kennel before coming to live with us.
The first week he was confused but happy!!! He loved his yard and to be able to run around and he did a lot of that.
Joker was the kindest dog I have ever known!! He loved cats, other dogs, raccoons, all animals!!!!!!!!!!!! he really loved them!!! He never chased one!! Never showed any aggression to any animal, even when he was attracted by another dog and really hurt bad. He would not fight back. He love animals. He was a very happy dog with us for 7 whole years!!!
I stated to walk him and we walked more and more. We ended up walking 5 miles a day!! He was in hog heaven.
We loved this dog so very much and he loved us as you can see in the pictures!! It was a wonderful 7 years!!
Hope you enjoyed!!
Love coming your way, Zoie and Fern

You are so right Sarge!!! He was the greatest!!! We all had fun with each other. We, Tom and I cried for him for months after losing him with kidney failure! It was so sad!!
DeleteThose are lovely memories you created with Joker. So glad he lived out his life with people who loved him so much. :)
ReplyDeleteWho's that kitty walking under Joker in the 2nd last picture?
That was our Tiger. They were the best of buddies!! They slept together and just really cared so much for each other. Tiger was so upset when Joker died. We got a Whippet months later and she looked a lot like Joker and Tiger just started sleeping with Amanda and love on her like she was Joker!!

They enrich our lives for sure!
DeleteI thought Joker was a Greyhound, but in that first photo, you can see the Ibsen Hound in him. How funny that he was so gentle with all animals, especially now that you live with Zoie, the super huntress. Can't wait to hear about all the other special animals you shared your life with.
ReplyDeleteDogs are just like people, they are all different!! Joker just was a loving soul!!! I am so happy we had him in his and our life!! That he got to live with people who wanted nothing of him but love, he had so much to give, kind of like me!!!
