Zoie hates water in any form

Not new pictures, please excuse!!  Tom has needed HIS camera at work-- and it is his not mine really.  I get to use it when he doesn't need it.
ZOIE HATES WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!  We have had rain on and off all of today so far and it has been like pulling teeth to get her out to do her business.  She hates water so badly I would say she has had a very bad experience at some time before she came to me with water!!!!  She hates water and is afraid of it!!!
She might have almost drown at one time and that would explain her fear of it. She is afraid of even a drop!!!  Poor girl!!!  It makes it very hard on us to keep her clean and to walk her when it is wet outside!!!
Love coming your way, Zoie & Fern
PS---- Tom has bought Zoie some Eucalyptus oil & citronella oil to make a recipe to keep the deer flies off Zoie and it works like a charm.  We only have to put it on her once a day too!!!

  3. Hi Fern, Glad your hubby found something to help with the deer flies; Zoie will feel much better. I'm sorry she is afraid of the rain; trying to get Hunter out in it last week was difficult too. Have a great day.
    Hugs, Noreen & Hunter

  4. Hi Fern, better hang on to that Tom of yours. He's a pretty bright guy, good around the house and looks after you, Zoie and Happy. Sounds like a pretty decent guy too. You might try a slightly damp cloth to wipe her down with. Maybe that'll work.

  5. My Maggie insisted on an umbrella held over her head when she had to do business outside in the rain.
We are so happy that the eucalyptus oil & citronella oil is working for you, Zoie!

    Love ya lots,

  8. We don't like water much either except to drink! I even try and walk round puddles and so do my sisters and we never want to go out in the rain :-) So glad you've found a nice smelling cure for those flies. Cheer up Zoie - life is getting better every day - woofs and licks from Magic xx

  10. Oh, I just cannot imagine being afraid of water. something awful must have happened. I don't know what I would do without water.....
My Vickie says to thank you for the information on the citranela and eucaliptis oul for flies.

She is gonna get some for here at the kennel for the dogs comfort. She was wondering if a Citranella candle would work too.

  12. Hey Zoie!
Wow, I'm sorry you don't like water...going swimmie is my favorite thing. Well, staying dry is nice too. Great news about keeping those nasty flies away! :)

  13. Poor Zoie. Our dogs like water except for rain. I think they don't mind the rain as much as the getting dried off afterwards.

  14. Hi Fern, join the club, Rory doesn't like water (or more to the point, a bath) either. He does however go under the sprinkler if it is very low and the weather is hot, so I suppose that is ok. Glad to hear about the oils working against the flies. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  15. Our Lab hated water ... can you believe it - a Lab who hated water? We had her from puppyhood ... and there was absolutely no reason she should have hated water, but she did. We knew her time was about here when a couple of weeks before she passed, she let us give her a bath without putting up a fight.
