Good Morning !!! It is Cold in Florida !!! We are going to have a little frozen precipitation tomorrow evening, THEY say!!!! Then a week of below freezing temperatures. This is a record cold winter for us, as it is for so many others!!!! Thank God for a warm house that is paid for!!
The pictures are of our sweet lady Amanda that was rescued from the Greyhound Rescue place in Ga. She was a wonderful friend that we loved so much, but she was sick from the start. The last 6 years of her life were good. We did everything we could to make her life comfortable and happy. She was much loved!!!
Mary and her family. Mary is on the left, than Jackie, and then Jake on the right. I know I am not suppose to love wild animals but I do!!! They don't know they are wild. When I go out to feed them they dance like dogs would when they are happy. They are very sweet animals really.
They would never hurt you unless they were sick. I have been there friend for over 20 twenty
years and I have never seen a sick coon except once. We took her to the vets and she had distemper. She was not mean, just sick with distemper.
Have as good a day as you can!
Love you all lots, Bambi & Fern
Hello! Thanks for stopping by A Doggie Life to see me and the pack! You were asking about their smarts and I have to tell you... only one of them (I'm looking to see if they are reading over my shoulder,) is truly the smartest. I won't tell you which... I'll just let you try to figure it out. ;)
ReplyDeleteNIce photos of the Raccoons. We actually had a raccoon for a pet when I was young. I always felt sorry for it and we eventual gave it to a animal farm. She was very happy there. Your greyhound was a beautiful dog. Aren't rescued dogs wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteHi Fern! Just promise me your always careful near your racoons...I'm just paranoid, that's all...my family would agree with me, that I'm overly nervous about wild animals. But they are beautiful. You must be so kind to take rescue dogs and to feed the wild animals.

Hi Fern and gang, Warm winter hugs to you today. It is cold here too but I have gotten out to walk yesterday and today-the sun is shining and it's beautiful. Love the photo of Amanda and also of the coons.

Amanda -- what a beauty! You are a person after my own heart. I feed anything that walks in our yard. We have skunks, gray fox, deer, squirrels, raccoons and many, many birds. We also have some wild cats and can't seem to tame them down but we put a heated dog house out there so they will be warm on these freezing nights. We also have a heated bird bath and a heated tub of water on the ground for anyone that may need a drink. We all need a little help from time to time....love those animals!
ReplyDeleteAmanda was a pretty girl. One day I'll have a rescued Greyhound.
ReplyDeleteI love racoons and agree with you; they get a very bad rap. I'd be thrilled to be able to have some as friends like you!
I hope all of woo stay warm if woo get the weather they are preparing woo fur!

You are in for another cold snap! We just talked with Gramma on the beach, and she said she brought in all her potted plants. AGAIN! At least the raccoons near your home will stay warm and comfy ... thanks to you!

Hi Fern, The coons are really cute. Do they have a place to go when it gets really cold?
