The poor Camellias have not been having a good year this year. The bush itself takes the cold even snow but it will not bloom if the temps are below 32 degrees. So far this winter we have had below 32 degrees or lower night after night. The Camellias are suffering. For the last 3 nights we here on our land have had it better than the rest of Tallahassee. B/c it has not been down below 32 degrees HERE.... Other places in town have been down to 28 to 30 degrees but we have stayed above 32 degrees!!!!!!! And look what has happened!!! We have two Camellias blooming!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY
Praise the Lord!!!!! It is suppose to get down to 30 tonight but it will probably not here so maybe we will have another bloom or two tomorrow!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern

  1. I'm envious that your weather is even that warm! We've had it down in the teens and below a few times this winter, and I'm heartily sick of it. :) Beautiful flowers, Fern!

  2. I love the first pale pink one. We have several Camellias and they are pretty tuff shrubs in the freezing temps!!

  3. Your camellias are beautiful, Fern! You brought a smile to our mom's face!

    Love ya lots,
    Maggie and Mitch

  4. Those are beautiful. I can't wait to see a Crocus pop up. Those are the first blooms we see around here. It will be a while though. Thanks for sharing!

  5. What beautiful Camellias you have there, Fern!
    Happy Friday!

  6. Our Camellias are buried right now...we hope they make it through this snow!!

  7. Oh they are beautiful Fern.....cold weather and all!
    Hugz, Nancy and the menagerie

  8. I think we are warmer than you are, Fern! The flowers are a promise of spring! Hope you have been well.

  9. What beautiful camellias - I'm glad I can enjoy them from afar because I am highly allergic to them.

  10. What beautiful camellias, Fern - we don't have any flowers blooming now because of all the snow. I can hardly wait for spring :o)
