Angel Quilt

Hi Friends,
I love love love animals- dogs best but I do also love quilts!! I use to make and design quilts. I use to sew everyday!!!

The quilt above I think is the most beautiful one I have ever seen!!! I had the good fortune to be able to watch this quilt being made. I belonged to the towns quilt club. The lady who made this beauty had just lost her husband to death. She wanted something hard to make to take her mind off her loss. This was a cross stitch pattern..... So she made each piece 1 inch by 1 inch, the piece ending up a half inch by half inch. She worked on it night and day. Each month she brought it to the club meetings to show and tell. I even went over to her house and watched her work on it.
It took her over a year ( and that was fast ) to finish this beautiful quilt!!
She gave it to her G-son!!!

Love coming your way, Bambi & Fern

  7. We thought it looked like a cross stitch pattern! That is very cool that she was able to transform it into a quilt. At least it was all squares!

  14. the quilt is truly a work of art and you know her love for her husband was coming thru her fingers with each stitch. sometimes so much beauty can come from so much pain...i just found you from one of your comments and wanted to invite you to visit this weekend. you had mentioned gardening and i am giving away a white flower farm gift certificate. i look forward in reading your guess should you elect to solve the mystery! happy spring!

  17. Oh my goodness - that is truly amazing. Even more amazing when you know the backstory and then to whom it was gifted. I hope she is feeling the loss less painfully now...
