January - 8 - 2010

Hay dear friends. Blogger is not letting me load pictures today. I don't know what is wrong. Or miss Computer is not happy. It might be both!! She is doing funny things.
Last night it did not freeze but was real close to the freezing mark. Already toay it is 33 and it is not noon yet. So no temperture change from night to day.
We are suppose to go down to 18 degrees tonight. When it is so cold you have to turn off the outside water. That means on hose to put fresh water out for all the critters. I don't know how you do it up north but Tom has a water tank and it is on a hand truck so it can be moved from place to place for the job everyday of putting out fresh water for all the critters. How do you do it up north ????

Sorry no pictures today.

Love you all, Fern

  1. I hope you and the critters stay warm...cold as "blue blazes" up here! My grandmother always said that!

  2. Wild animals drink from the creek, the cattle have heated water tanks and the dogs drink inside. But it is brutally cold. I usually use the 40 degree mark as a time when I can groom my dogs (outside) but I told them today unless it looks like it will be warmer next week, we either have to drop the mark to 30 degrees or groom inside (which I'm not set up for). I will be so glad to have an inside grooming station when we build our new granary.

    Stay warm.

    Hugs to all,
    Lynn

  3. We have a bubbler in our pond so Dauby and the geese and ducks have water to swim in. Outside water is shut off until March or April or pipes will freeze and burst. Stay warm, Fern!

    Love ya lots
