I deflect it with a game of ball or tug, although there have been times when a "time out" is in order just to calm her down.Sagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14248505284633390568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756509918716250722.post-85526733789162175202011-08-24T05:08:48.269-04:002011-08-24T05:08:48.269-04:00Hi Fern!! My daughter's 120 lb,10 yr old Newfie mix eats all the veges in the garden. They get so mad at him. Don't have any suggestions about her realizing you aren't a dog except making sure you are the pack leader.
Have a great week my friend.
NoreenNanaNor'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03608980502430055753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756509918716250722.post-45226553704804322662011-08-23T13:23:45.460-04:002011-08-23T13:23:45.460-04:00I know how much you are loving having Tinker as pa...I know how much you are loving having Tinker as part of your life. I just hope you'll try to remember that she's not Bambi and try not to compare the two of them. Remember that you had Bambi for years. She didn't start out to be perfect. She was that way because of the years you both spent together. Continue to be patient as you teach Tinker all the things she needs to about being a good family member, and let her be herself and you'll see that what wil emerge will be a totally different dog than your beloved Bambi, but a beloved companion just the same.

PamAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756509918716250722.post-81484571097618121672011-08-23T12:52:37.209-04:002011-08-23T12:52:37.209-04:00Sounds like Tinker has you on your toes!Sounds like Tinker has you on your toes!Whisppyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04069858184145317762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756509918716250722.post-57238918068574238232011-08-23T12:39:20.490-04:002011-08-23T12:39:20.490-04:00Hi Fern, don't push or try to stop Tinker phys...Hi Fern, don't push or try to stop Tinker physically because she thinks, "oh mom is playing with me so I'll play with mom". Instead, each time, she tries to do bitty face with you, scream out loud "OUCH" (like someone is attacking you). Do this each and every time she tries to do bitty face with you. Tinker will learn to associate the scream with "oh I shouldn't do that to my mom". Patience and reinforcement are the keys to getting her to stop.My Dog Sam - Ruptured Diskhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03274823343453883938noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6756509918716250722.post-12433545324687501752011-08-23T11:59:29.705-04:002011-08-23T11:59:29.705-04:00It took us a while, but we know what OUCH!! or OW!...It took us a while, but we know what OUCH!! or OW! means. Mom still has scars on her hands from when we were puppies, and when Ruby came to live with us we don't think anyone ever played with her, so she bit VERY hard.
