Last day of September

Good morning blog friends, today is a nice day even though most of Florida is not having a nice day. We have no rain here. We have had 2 days of rain in all of September here. A grand total of 2 inches in September only...
Above is our very old Happy. She is somewhere between 18 and 20 years old. She is in a lot of pain at times and doesn't walk much any more but we keep her going b/c she is still enjoying life and very happy most all the time. She loves her loving. It is very important to her to stay close and watch when we are cooking or at the computer desk. Of course if what we are doing takes more then 10 minutes then she falls asleep!!!! She is still a very Happy cat!!!!!

The above picture is of this years baby Issy. She is a little over 4 months old. The picture below is her Mother Abby. Abby is 2 years old and just had her first litter of two coons. She is the best Mother of all the mothers that I feed.....People say they can't tell one coon from the other. Can you see a resemblance between the two??

I should have entered Abby's picture in the tongue contest!! But it's over, I missed it!!

Bambi lypoma's lumps are staring the trip back down!!! It is a slow process.

Lynn of Rocky Creek Scotties has awarded me an award. It is the best Moms Doggy award.

I think I have that backwards it is best Doggy Moms award!! Thank you Lynn!! now I have to pick 8 good doggy moms to award them with this award!!! Oh fun!!!!

I am going to think about it for awhile.

Oh Bambi Shame

Oh Bambi Shame!!! I have been working hard cooking Bambi's food for almost 3 months now. The diet was working!!!Her lypoma's were going away. Many had gone away.
Last Wednesday I have a dentist appointment to have my teeth cleaned. I rarely leave the house b/c I don't drive any more. So Tom had come home from work to take me to the dentist.
Our cat Happy is very old kitty now. She is 18 to 20 years old and she doesn't want to walk much or be picked up b/c she is in pain a lot of the time. Long story short her cat food is left on the floor for her at all times. All night Bambi never touches it. BUT GO AWAY and that cat food is gone down the hatch!!!! I FOREGOT to pick it up!!!!!!! SHE ATE IT. OH Shame Bambi !!
Her lypoma's are BACK!! I feel so bad!!! Not all of the lypoma's are back but the ones that were the largest are back and bigger then ever!! She ate one bowl of cat food and the lypoma's are back!!! SOOO we start again! We start again.
I hope you have had a good week-end. Other then what I have just told you -- we did.

The Last 25 Years

Hi blog friends! I have lived in this house for the last 37 years. I have lived in the woods that long!!! I have gotten use to seeing every kind of wildlife (except bears) there is. We have a screened back porch were we use to keep birdseed. For years that was fine. Then there were holes showing up in the screen!! Then we could tell that something had been trying to open the big garbage can to get to the birdseed. It turned out to be possums. A few years went by that way. They didn't get in the garbage can at first but persistence and then they did!! We bought a shed to house the birdseed and the garden tiller. The holes kept coming in the screen. We found out then,, it was coons. The coons made a mess looking for food!! We talked about it a lot. We decided that this was the way it was going to be period!!! What to do about it?? Feed the animals out the back gate was our solution. It first it was table scraps, then cooking for them, and now and for the last 25 years it has been buying dog food at Wal-mart, 40lbs of dog food!! It has been a eye opening experience!! Coons are not mean unless you try to touch them!! They will not attack you!!! Possums are not mean. Coons are entelligent animals. they learn their name and will come when called.
Meet Johnny! He is the son of Abby. He has a sister. Her name is Issy.

Johnny (in the middle) is trying already to be the boss of everybody!!! He is real friendly with me b/c he knows where the food comes from!!!
In years passed I have been able to doctor their bo bo's and have kept many alive when they would have died without my help!! Like dogs they know you have helped them!!
If you see a coon or possum remeber they are not bad animals!!!! They will not hurt you unless they have rabies. In 37 years I haev only seen one possum that had rabies, no other animal has been sick with rabies!!!!
I hope you enjoyed getting to know some wild animals a little better!!!

Three coons-- so cute and Sweet Bambi walking

Happy coming week-end dear friends! I love week-ends!!
The picture above is really a good one if I do say so myself!!! From left to right is --- Jackie, Donna standing and then Mary. Mary is my oldest coon now a days. She is 4 years old. I loved her mother so much and I miss her so. Three years ago there was a strange stray dog that took up just north of us and he ate almost all my coons!!!! I had been feeding 12 coons everyday and he got all but 3 coons. Mary was one who was smarter the that dog!! The other two were my oldest coons ever. Brother and sister coons, bitter enemies, Pretty boy and pretty girl. Pretty girl lived the longest of any coon I have ever known. She lives 8 years, her brother 7 and a half.
The picture below you all know is my wonderful rescue dog . We are going to celebrate her 13 th birthday in two weeks today!! Just 2 weeks to go!!!! I have never had a dog that old before!!
I have always had pretty big dogs and they have never lived that long. Joker made it to 12 yeas old and 2 months. I hope Bambi makes it to 14 or 15 years old!!!!!!
Bambi and I walk 3 or 4 times a day. She is really doing well on her mostly vegs diet. She gets hard boiled eggs and a little ground turkey or beef everyday too. Most of her lypoma's are gone and some have gone way down in size!!! The vet says he has never seen anything like it before!!

Have a fun and happy week end dear friends.

Dial Up

Hi blog friends. You all really came to bat for me yesterday!!!! Thank -you so so very much for all your good ideas!!! A Lot of you said don't worry about blogging everyday!!! I think you are right!! Most said blog about what I like and don't worry about trying to be interesting. GOOD advice!!!!
The first thing I would like to talk about is that I am on dial up!!!!!!!!!!! That makes for a lot of problems. One thing is when blogger is happy and will let me get to your blog it will only load 3 to 5 pictures in about 10 minutes and if I want more pictures I have to wait 10 or 20 minutes more (that is when blogger is playing!!) I really don't have that kind of time!!!!! So I usually don't wait for all the pictures to load and go ahead a comment without seeing all your pictures.
Am I the only one on dial up???????? It takes me (if Blogger will let me ) about 30 minutes a comment.

The crazy patch quilt is the first quilt I ever made. I made it in 97. It took most of that year to make. It isn't straight I really don't do much better now and it is b/c of the arthritis in my hands. It is hard to cut straight.

Thank-you all for all your kind help and I will try to get to your blog and answer your comments. I really love you all so much!!!!!!!

Brain Freeze

Hi, my dear friends in blog land. I applaud all you bloggers who blog everyday!!!! I really don't know how you do that??? When going to my blog this AM and seeing there were no new comments I knew that I had to blog if I was going to hear from anyone!!! Please tell me how to blog everyday!! Where do the ideas come from?? I have one very big disadvantage. I have a very boring life in relation to your life. That boring life is not by choice!!
Really I would love to hear how you do think of things that are interesting to your blog friends.
I get a friend here in blog land and for a little while they come but then they lose interest and don't come anymore............. How do you keep their interest ????????????????????????

The week-end is coming

This is the picture I showed you a couple of posts ago, only it is in color as it should have been.
Bambi taking a leak in color!!!

Happy cat keeping track of things.
Bambi in her chair taken 3 years ago. She doesn't spend much time in her chair any more and I think it is painful to get in and out of the chair now that she is 21 people years older then she was then.
I have not been able to get on any blogs all day today. Not even mine. I tried tonight and got on just fine. Thats Blogger for you!!
I am glad it is the week-end. Tom will be home and I love our week-ends!!! I hope you have a good one.

The garden

Our garden is still producing even tho our yellow summer squash is done.. We still have butternut squash happily growing away!! Tom planted more butternut squash over the weekend. He also tilled a strip for radishes, Swiss chard, beets, garlic. We tried to grow beets last year and they didn't do well. Our Swiss chard did good and we only got a few radishes. We really have never tried to grow garlic before but we are going to try this fall. It is fun to have a garden and see what will be successful and what will not be. It makes you want to try again!!!
I wish we didn't have so many trees. We would grow a lot more stuff if we had more sun.
