Clematis and a Camellia

Hay blog friends, happy cold day!!! Over half our U S is in a hard freeze!! We are too!!

Camellias do not freeze. They get nipped but really not hurt. I love them so much. I have 18. When we were on our walkies this am I counted them.

The top picture is my birthday present from God. It is a clematis and it has been freezing every night for 4 nights with last night down to 20 degrees. The Clematis is still there!!!
Not frozen!! That bloom has been out there since the 21 of December. With no protection.
A Miracle !!!!
Have a wonderful day, Bambi, Happy & Fern

  2. Hi Fern, The photos are gorgeous today. There are no flowers blooming here. I think the first hard freeze got them all. My neighbor has over 125 rose bushes. She also has other flowers. They have been gone a long while. Have a great day. Hugs, ~Karen

  9. Hurrah for flowers! Aren't they the best. We've been watching how they are coating the strawberry crop with water to make an ice shell to protect them from temps BELOW freezing!
Be sure to put out extra food for birds and wildlife. They need extra food to generate body heat.

  10. The flowers are so beautiful, Fern. So much nicer than our snow. Don't worry, we are not mad about you changing Abby's name, no big deal. I have been trying to spend a little less time on the computer as a New Year's Resolution, so am not getting to comment on very blog each post.
